[It's true to form that Beverly would make an audio post, but she definitely sounds miserable. Maybe more miserable than she has in a long time, and that's with the whole demon thing last month.]

Aaron and Eric are gone. I just came over for dinner and... 

[And they're gone.]

First Jason and now this. Why does everyone keep leaving?!

Yeah. I ate dinner here like every other night. And Eric was teaching me how to cook.

[Which makes Beverly go back into the kitchen. There's the sound of her poking around in the cupboards, and she comes out and adds a large, gleaming cast iron skillet to the box, along with Eric's knives.]

Other nights I had dinner with Strand and Alex and some nights dinner with just grabbing stuff from the merchant dome.

[sauntervaguelydownward]

[ He watches impassively. There's not much to steal around here that catches his eye. There's an old camera sitting on a shelf and six collector cans of some American craft beer. He's definitely going to take the throw blanket over the arm of the sofa, later. ]

Never really been much into cooking.

[ Not that he even needs to eat, for that matter. He does because he likes it. Mostly because Aziraphale likes it; he'd always been partial to the alcohol. ]

You know, as it turns out, I'm pretty good at getting hit.

...that sounded better in my head.

[gristle]

[That makes Bev laugh, even though she doesn't want to.]

I bet it does. But I'm serious. I've been like training with a bunch of people since I got here.

[gristle]

I'll be there for brownies and dinner tomorrow night. Will you tell Alex not to be so Alex about it?

[gristle]

I hadn't been before. But I mean you can't eat out all the time. And mac and cheese out of box isn't exactly around here.

[Bev just sits on the sofa, and looks around. She's expecting Aaron to come in from the smithery or Eric to come in from the kitchen and she's just...]

This place feels haunted.

[toivory]

It's an awful feeling.

[She sat there, holding Beverly as much as the girl would allow, offering her shoulder, and her heart.]

How did you meet them? [She tilts her head slightly, looking at the other girl with a warm smile.]

[thegrifter]

That's good, kid. And smart. You want a hand with that, you let me know. I'm pretty good at a lot of things.

Hm...I'd start with an introduction. Tell him you met in another universe, and that you just wanted him to know you care.

[gristle]

I met them here. They were concerned that I wasn't gonna be eating. It took me a while, but they adopted me kind of. Fed me every other night. Well, most every other night. They always made sure I was okay. When bad things happened they worried and stuff.

[gristle]

[gristle]

You don't think he'd think that was like weird? Or a trap or something?

[toivory]

It's got to be so lovely, having someone near you worry about you.

[She'd forgotten that feeling until she'd been reunited with Theon.] To feel so loved and cared for. [Especially by men that were of no threat to her.]

[thegrifter]

Guns, hand-to-hand, small and large weapons, tracking, you name it.

[gristle]

[Bev just nods and she sniffles a bit.]

A lot of people do here. More than I ever expected.

[gristle]

Tracking? How do you do that?

[toivory]

It's tragic. A girl like you should be well loved and cared for at home.

[She'd seen what Beverly's home life had been like. She reaches for her glass of wine and takes a small sip.]

You are worthy of all the love you've found here. And more.

[gristle]

I don’t want to go home. I know I have to, but I don’t want too. I love my friends but I don’t wanna lose the people here.

But they keep leaving.

I'll gag her if I have to.

I don’t need to know about your sex life.

[Joke. Yep.]

I'd never put you through that.

[He's totally not smirking over that joke.]

We all must go home some day. And when we do, we'll be leaving so much behind- at home, my boyfriend's body is dust. [Her heart ached with that thought every day, even as she lay by his side.]

Perhaps... there is a way that you could stay. [She couldn't stay. Sansa had a country to run, her home needed her. But perhaps people could choose to remain here.] Have you asked the Sphere?

[gristle]

Good.

I can’t stay. I have to go home and stop Pennywise in twenty-seven years.
