Because I don't trust that they do know what it is.

They tell us they know. They want us to believe they have more control over the situation than they actually do. I'm willing to bet they're every bit as clueless as we are; that supposed knowledge is just what's keeping us at heel.

Or, they do know, and they're not letting us in on the details. I'm not sure which situation I'd prefer. What do you think?
