Audio | UN: Maresh

[No video this time. Perhaps that is a message in and of itself from the charismatic member of the council. But his voice carries enough weight as it is. Melancholy and... pensive. Like something is missing.]

This time of the year isn't what it should be. I do not know how to put it, not truly.

In London, my London, we'd be preparing the most fabulous balls. A series of them, using all the ballrooms. One for the nobility and wealthy. One open for the people to see the palace and meet their King and Queen. Another for the sheer joy and celebration for the palace staff. They would be under the stars, and wine would flow and there would be ice sculptures such as only the greatest water mages could make.

[Wistful. Yes, that's what he is. He misses those better days. Misses when his days were simpler, and his responsibilities were light, or non-existent.]

But that is not to be I suppose.

So perhaps I need to think less upon those festivities I shall miss and learn more of what others would have. Tell me, how did your people bring in a new year?

Yes. Food. that was a goal.

[Though he does not like his beloved leaving him, he does let Watts move.]

Watts-Maresh. Yes, I think that would be quite lovely, my dear.

It was, we just got... a little sidetracked. Delightfully distracted, really.

[He can’t help the fond little smile at that again. Touching Rhy’s arm lightly in promise that he’d be back once he’d gotten their food as he noted the man’s expression over his getting up.

He moved to get the dishes that were waiting to be sampled. Though he continued to speak over his shoulder, sounding rather pleased.]

I’m glad, then we can say we’ve got one thing figured out already, love.

We definitely have that figured out. But it's not one thing. It's two. It's that we love each other and that we will share a name.

[Oh... He really liked the sound of it, the more he thought about it.]

Two things, we’re even more ahead than I thought. I rather like this, I think. Figuring such pleasant things out.

[He put a little over everything together, not sure what Rhy would want most from what he’d gotten for the evening. Rather than dish up two plates, he filled one to share... If only because, as he moved back across the room, he returned to sitting lightly on Rhy’s lap with the plate held up for the man to take from as he wanted.]

Now, we can continue to figure out what other details we like and uh... Also make sure that we get some food into us.

[He gestured to the plate with a happy flush.]

[Rhy smiles and once his lover is back in his lap, he wraps his arms around Watts to keep him there, grinning.]

Well, I think I'd like to see you in my family colors. Are you okay with that?

[And Llewellyn is so very comfortable, relaxing against Rhy as he offered the man a bite while he answered. It was nice to be held; he decided.]

Hmm... I’ve never worn red before, and I can’t think of a better occasion to start. [He grinned back,] So yes, I would be more than okay with it.

[It was nice to hold, and to eat when it was given to him. Yes, he could do more nights like this.]

There should be flowers. However we do this. An arrangement that bespeaks our love. In both of our languages.

[It was just nice, to be so entirely comfortable and to share the food more intimately. To think he’d once been too shy to enjoy it... It was nice to realize how far he’d come, and that they could have so many more lovely evenings like this.

Alternating once in a while to sneak a bite himself, he smiled at the mention of flowers. Yes, weddings definitely needed flowers.]

That’s a good idea, love. I’ve been hunting around the library to see if I can find a book to compare between our worlds. To uh— put together something that reflects both languages would be quite beautiful... I love it.

[Rhy smiles and Kisses the other man's cheek.]

What are your thoughts on dancing?

[Definitely a perk to being sat where he was, he decided. Offering Rhy a little more to eat a moment later, he paused.]

Well... I’ve always liked the idea of it, and dancing is an important part to wedding receptions in my world. There’s always a first dance for those who’ve just been married.

[There was one small problem, though. Part of him wanted to keep it to himself and see if he couldn’t fix the problem before the day. The other part of him, the part that doesn’t like lies, won out.]

Unfortunately, I’ve never had an occasion to learn. But— I would like to, especially to share a dance with you.

I could teach you. Would you like to learn to lead or not?

[It would be helpful, wouldn't it? Lessons together?]

[Oh... He hadn’t thought of that, oddly enough.]

If you’d like, I would enjoy that. Who better to learn from, after all? Just uh— well, you’ve noticed my clumsiness.

[As for leading or not... He tilted his head at Rhy, expression thoughtful and warm.]

And you’ve never led me anywhere I didn’t like before, so unless you’d like me to learn to lead, then I would be fine with learning to follow.

When we're sober, we will. If only so I can have you in my arms.

[Well then, Rhy would be happy to teach him to follow. Rhy loved the idea of it so damn much.]

[That gets a soft little giggle,]

Smart, considering what I just said about clumsiness. I expect the alcohol would only continue to hinder my progress, as functional as I tend to be with it.

[And leaning back to press a small kiss to his beloved, he continued a moment later.]

And you do have me in your arms currently, I should point out. Which, I can say with the utmost certainty that I like it, my love.

Stay with me tonight. Here. You and Pretzel, we'll all curl up in my bed.

[The invitation is met with a quick nod, and a pleased hum as he resettled the plate of food carefully.]

Of course, Rhy. I can think of nothing more cozy, and I would hate to part tonight...

[Truly, he could stay right where he was and be quiet happy. When things were so lovely and they had so much to look forward to together.]

[Rhy would hate to part with him at all, ever. Alas it will be cramped, but he will be glad to have them there.]

[Yes, he liked the sound of that more than he thought. Even now, it just made him feel so very warm... Like he belonged with Rhy, a little family of three.]

Oh, how I love you too... I don’t know if I’ve ever felt happier, to think that you would have me. That we could have each other...

[Rhy smiles, his eyes dancing with delight.]

We can. We'll find someone to officiate of course. Someone we like.

[His brows perk up at that,]

Oh— I had rather forgotten about that. I love the idea though, it would mean more to have someone we like... Did you have anyone in mind?

[Llewellyn could think of few that he wouldn’t be alright with marrying them, generally he’d found himself quite lucky to get along with those who were here.]

I don't know yet. I'll have to think. Beyond you, and my brother of course, my favorite person is Inesa. But I'll figure something out, and pitch you some names.

[Llewellyn smiled at that,]

Yes, I’ll certainly be happy to listen. We’ll find the right person to ask, I’m sure.

[Inesa though, he can’t help but nod.]

I’m quite fond of Inesa myself, honestly. She’s been very kind. Perhaps she would have some ideas for clothing for the day? I’ve been quite impressed with her designs. She even made Pretzel a jacket, for if it snows again, you know.

I'll reach out to her about the clothing. Between us and Sansa, we should probably be able to manage. If Sansa is willign.

[It would be delightful.]

Yes, having seen the work done by you all at the shop, I can imagine it will be lovely.

[He smiled, the shop was such a nice atmosphere. He really did love visiting it, for all he tried to not get in the way of the work.]

I wish I could offer some help there, but I fear that I’d um— be a hinderance. But if there is anything I can do to make it easier, I will. Even if it’s only bringing you all something to eat now and then.

[His fiance, bringing him meals. Oh what an idea.]
