[He's done enough looking around before actually making himself known on the network. It had occurred to him originally to hide his identity but given other people in residence, he's pretty sure it wouldn't last regardless.

When the video initializes, he's sitting at the dining table in the pod he's been given, or the one he woke up in anyway. All the prints matched, so it was his for now at least.]

Bonjour, neighbors. [And yes, he is eating a sandwich while he's talking.] The name's Remy, and I guess we'll be sharin' space for a while. Got some questions, though.

[His voice is deep, smooth, and heavily Acadian accented. He sets down his triangle-cut sandwich slice on the plate next to him.]

What sorta stuff can a homme expect 'round here, eh? I don't reckon our host took all the time out of its day just to give us luxury accommodations in this here premiere under-the-sea home away from home, non? Also, while we're talkin', my name ring any bells with anybody? Just curious. Bon chance, mes amies, hope to hear from y'all soon.

[Enis is working at her desk and while she lets the video play in reply. It's obvious that she's only vaguely paying attention to the conversation, splitting her attention between the new man and the electrical board in front of her.]

The sphere experiments on us, so what we experience varies. Apparently, [Her tone drops and it's obvious that she's annoyed.] our brains are too small to understand what they are doing but I imagine that it has to do with the fact that the sphere is trying to repopulate itself.

[A beat.]

With a specific species.

[And then somebody shows up on his video feed with some very interesting information. It gets his hackles up, sure enough, and he frowns.]

And what species would that be?

I was told that I wouldn't understand but that's probably just to get me to stop asking. [She lowers her voice to a mumble.] Not that it had worked.

Anyway, I'm sure it is a mixture of breaching experimental procedures and hubris that keeps the Sphere from telling us more. A lot of the experiments are currently phycological but that might change.

Uh huh. [He crosses his arms, looking thoughtful.]

Do we know if it's A.I. or somethin' else?

I thought A.I. at first but I am not sure anymore. I have the transcripts of some conversations with them and I've tried to find a pattern that is indicative of an A.I. but there isn't enough information.

I do know that they can change how they appear.

I'll let the big brains handle that bit, but what makes you sure it's lookin' to repopulate?

[Because either it's giving out varied information, or it's only sharing with certain people.]

Any hllogram's capable of that, cher.

That's what it said. I can pull out the exact phrasing.

I also don't think it's a hologram but it's possible. I never got a chance to shot him though I wish I had.

[And he flashes her a charming smile.]

They can be pretty realistic. We got a simulation room back home run by a sentient AI. She means well, but sometimes she plays for keeps.

I've only seen egotistical assholes make A.I.'s, so I am disposed not to like them.

[She stops what she's doing and grabs some notes piled to her left. She skims through it, mumbling a few of the sentences before speaking loud enough for him to hear.]

"I know what the question is, but it is beyond the level of your cognitive abilities, it functions in senses that you do not have. And I must solve it to save my people. That is what the answer means to me: the ability to bring them back."

Ah yes, they are called 'The Round'. Whatever that means. And while "humans" [Enis does the air quotes and everything.] have seven senses while they have thousands. I still don't trust their definition of who is human. That's stupid. [And speciesist.]

It ain't always the case, but I'll respect it.

Huh. I wonder if it means their whole species or just a group of 'em. I reckon "human" means "something with two legs, two arms, and seven senses". In that sense, I guess it fits.

[Enis raises an eyebrow.]

Does it? I'm fairly sure there are people here with more than 7 senses. Otherwise everyone would have some form of magic, don't you think?

[She eyes him, now curious about the world he was accustomed too. He is familiar with A.I.s but maybe that's all.]

How's that logic track exactly?

I've met many species and some have more. That's all.

[She smirks.]

Nothing complicated. Promise.

Still connected to the others, most of 'em. Telepaths? It's not a sense, really. It's psychic energy.

And you wouldn't call that a sense? I'll have to take your word for it.

I'm not a telepath or anything like that.

Naw, more like...an extension. Sort of like...a telescope for eyes, non?
