If anyone's listening, please respond...if you can. I don't know if this is another nightmare or...or what, but...we don't have much time. I don't...know what that means, but I can't stop thinking it. We have to hurry. We have to find the others.

Not much. I know...time passed. I was somewhere that smelled like earth. Other than that...nothing, really. It's not helpful, I know.

Do you remember them taking you?

No. I remember...being watched by the same people who were watching Alex.

All they did was watch?

From what I remember, yes, but...what I remember is hazy.

And none of them looked like anyone we know?

No. I think it was the same men who attacked Alex.

I assume you have no idea if you were both attacked at the same time.

Magic...you mean like...hallucinations? Illusions?

Perhaps, but those aren't the only things magic can do.

I...guess not, no. Magic isn't really...we don't have mages or...wizards, except in fiction in my world.

Yeah, but...the possibility didn't even occur to me, and that's not...an option here.

All the more reason for us to rely on one another. It gives us more experience and more options.

Yeah, true. Just because it could be magic doesn't mean it is.
