Um guys... [Beverly is currently between the Strand Reagan pod and the Aaron and Eric pod. It's Sunday night, and she was coming over to check on Aaron. She's closer to the Strand pod now though, and there's a fair amount of blood around her. She's looking at, but not touching another communication device. It's older than the other ones, a little more faded and there's some green moss around it.]

I think someone else is missing. I don't know who but...

[She is resisting the urge to toe at the device and see.] But I think I need some help.

He doesn't even bother to communicate that he's coming. Beverly's close enough that it's faster to go to her. By this point, Richard isn't wearing his coat anymore, and his shirt sleeves are rolled up to his elbows.

"When did you find this?" He's not treating her like a kid, he wouldn't do that to her, but he is standing next to her, ready to cover her if she can't handle another scene like this.

“Just now. Trust me, Richard I’m not just gonna linger over it.” Her normally pale face is white and she’s got her hands in her pockets of her jeans as she does it. “I was worried it was you or Aaron or Eric at first.” She says softly frowning at the communicator on the ground. “But it makes me wonder if someone was watching you guys like they were watching Alex.”

Richard reaches out to rest a hand on her shoulder. "You don't have to stay." He knows these are hard on people. She's young and she's doing her best right now. She's a brave kid. "Go check on Aaron and Eric."

[This was outside. Just outside.]

Beverly? Stay there.

"No. I need to know who it is." She needs to know that it's not someone who she cares about here, that much is written on her face. And her hand tightens in her pocket again, because Beverly is definitely carrying a dagger now.

I'm with Richard. He's here too.

[But there's relief in her voice.]

Is Eric there with you?

[There's a child here? And she's out investigating these disappearances?

The important thing here is finding out who else is missing, though. She can worry about the well-being of this girl later.]

I can be over in a jiffy. Did you happen to see anyone nearby?

"The best we can do is another headcount, I'm afraid." Still, he crouches by the communicator, pulling off his tie and using it as make-shift gloves as he looks it over without removing it from its place. "This is old; it's not one of ours." He's almost certain of it. This one has existed in the person's brain for a while if the look of it is any indication. "But I can ask someone to look into it if you want." Or more look into it further than they were already going to. Of course, this scene as well would be investigated.

Yeah. Eric's fine. We need to act quickly. Who's missing?

Richard is here and Aaron is coming. I was going over to visit Aaron and Eric now that Aaron is back.

[She's like a stray cat they feed. And are kinda like her dads.]

No, there was no one. There's not normally people around here unless they live here. And Richard and Aaron and Eric are okay and Alex isn't back yet.

Bev just nods for a minute, relieved that it's not someone she knows well. She agrees with Richard because there's more stuff on it, as if it's been in for a while. A lot long to grow with someone than there's has. "I don't think it's a kid," she just offers in a small voice. "The blood splatter isn't right. It looks more like the other scenes than what would be if someone smaller got attacked." Even Alex, but she doesn't want to say it aloud to Richard.

I don't know. But the device looks different. Like it's been in someone for a lot longer than it's been in us.

"No, I'm sure it's an adult by the size of the device." It probably is, but it's what Beverly needs right now. It's not a blanket of false belief; it's a supposition that makes her feel better. "I'll call someone to come over and look at it." Not that he wants to call Ten over, but he seems to be doing a decent job; even if he is licking the blood.

So there were at least two other people in the area. No one rips out their own communicator like that.

I'm coming over. Even if the guys are gonna be there, I don't want them running off and leaving you alone.

...maybe one of the people who's been here longer? [The people who've drastically changed their opinions of us recently?]

If the moss isn't alive itself; Ten is wondering if maybe someone is controlling it with low level psychic. Still, who is bringing in the different moss species? Ten is out checking out the domes and trying to figure out why it's contained.

That's the only other pattern. It's inside. Not outside. He still comes - to inspect both the blood and moss. It's when The Doctor is licking the moss - he stops.

"Same as the others. Nothing significant"

Then to Bev warmly, "Hallo, I'm The Doctor. And you know what's usually good in these situations? Tea! Helps calm the nerves and good for the synapses."

Richard might be able to read between the lines that The Doctor found something and doesn't like what he found.

Beverly finds herself moving instinctively closer to Richard when the strange man... ew did he really lick the moss? A questioning look is made to the man whom she trusts that clearly states is this really the guy? because he definitely doesn't seem like someone who Richard would trust, given what she knows of him.

Her look goes all the more flat and her tiny shoulders tighten a bit as she stares at the Doctor. "Are you trying to dismiss me to go make you tea?" There's an angry note in her voice, because Beverly hates being dismissed by adults, especially when she's been helping Richard already.

None of the people ripped it out themselves. They can't. It's in people's brains too far. I saw on Alex's.

[And now this one.]

They wouldn't leave me though.

[That she is sure of, not without making sure she was safe first.]

Maybe. Or one of the guys who was watching you and Alex and maybe Rhys.

The misogynistic comment does get what the other man is doing. He also, however, knows Beverly, and while she's still a child, she's far more able to handle things than most other children.

Instinctively, he reaches out to take her hand, offering a comforting squeeze. "She'll be fine; just tell us what you found."

Ten eyes between Beverly and Richard for a moment; no he was trying to dismiss you that you make yourself tea.

A look on The Doctor's face along the lines of 'alright but you're not going to like it' and presses a finger gently into the moss and presses down; and slowly pulls his finger up and when he does so - there's a clear gooey/stickey substance connecting Ten's finger to the moss and eyes between both Bev and Richard with a raise brow if they know what that is.

At this rate, everyone's going to end up going one by one.

[Not the most helpful response, but then, Ivar's not the most helpful of individuals at the best of times when it comes to caring about other people.]

We should place bets.

Bev doesn't normally do physical affection, but she lets him hold her hand for a moment before pulling away, because she knows he means well, and he doesn't mean anything by it. But that doesn't mean that Bev's gonna keep doing it as she stares at the gooey substance on the moss. "That doesn't look like the other scenes. It looks like the weird stuff where we fought IT."

Are you fucking serious right now?

[Oh, that is an angry note in the girl's voice.]

Of course not. Being serious would mean I actually give a shit about what's going on.

[And he won't, not up until the moment his brother gets kidnapped.]
