Um guys... [Beverly is currently between the Strand Reagan pod and the Aaron and Eric pod. It's Sunday night, and she was coming over to check on Aaron. She's closer to the Strand pod now though, and there's a fair amount of blood around her. She's looking at, but not touching another communication device. It's older than the other ones, a little more faded and there's some green moss around it.]

I think someone else is missing. I don't know who but...

[She is resisting the urge to toe at the device and see.] But I think I need some help.

The misogynistic comment does get what the other man is doing. He also, however, knows Beverly, and while she's still a child, she's far more able to handle things than most other children.

Instinctively, he reaches out to take her hand, offering a comforting squeeze. "She'll be fine; just tell us what you found."

Ten eyes between Beverly and Richard for a moment; no he was trying to dismiss you that you make yourself tea.

A look on The Doctor's face along the lines of 'alright but you're not going to like it' and presses a finger gently into the moss and presses down; and slowly pulls his finger up and when he does so - there's a clear gooey/stickey substance connecting Ten's finger to the moss and eyes between both Bev and Richard with a raise brow if they know what that is.

Bev doesn't normally do physical affection, but she lets him hold her hand for a moment before pulling away, because she knows he means well, and he doesn't mean anything by it. But that doesn't mean that Bev's gonna keep doing it as she stares at the gooey substance on the moss. "That doesn't look like the other scenes. It looks like the weird stuff where we fought IT."

Neither does Richard, but he'd blame it on Alex if she mentioned that he'd done it. Alex was always grabbing and touching and holding. It'd become ingrained in him in the three years he'd known her. So Beverly's pull away from him went unnoticed. Instead, he moved to where The Doctor was exposing the moss. Sticking his fingers into it and testing it, he frowns.

"This is from the body, isn't it?"

"You're right it wasn't in the other scenes..." A pause; It again. "IT what was it?"

There's a solemn look on his face towards Richard; which take that as a 'yes'.

And with a so sorry look; pushes the clear goo back into the moss.

"It's a long story." And one she doesn't know this man well enough to tell it too. Richard was different, because Stan's memory was out there from when he was here. And she trusts Richard, but she doesn't trust the Doctor as he pushes back the goo into the moss. Trying to remember what she could from bio class, there are things that she knows it's not: it's not blood and it's not shit and she doesn't think it's the other thing so she's going with "it's brain goo? More of it?"

He's not going to ask about 'IT,' he's going to raise a brow at The Doctor, subtly telling the other man to drop the question. "Spinal fluid, I think." It made sense if it was. Everything else had a link directly to the brain.

A slight exhale; she doesn't trust him but he wants to know - especially with now with the escalation of things. With how this looks like something the Cybermen would do - what is this? And hearing there's a room full of that somewhere he really doesn't like. What if Rose is down there?

He feels his hearts take turns skipping a beat.

"Close. It's -", Richard cuts him off; but does grin on how both of them are clever. He does see Richard's signal to back off but -

"Listen - we're all working together to save people. People we care about. If you know something that would be helpful; please," with an undertone of listen to reason and trusting voice; "I'm here to help but I can't help to my best ability if you don't tell me."

"It's not helpful." Bev protests quickly, and she wraps her arms around herself even tighter for a moment before she forces her arms to be loose at her sides. "IT is connected to Derry back home. IT's not here, they've never even heard of it." There's a firmness in her voice, because she saw how Max responded to Stan's memory, and how Annie had too. This wasn't the same thing.

"Besides, IT doesn't go after adults. IT goes after kids. No one taken was a kid." And she knows, because she knows all the kids who are here and go to the school, and she looks to Richard for a little bit of help here.

Richard's eyes narrow at The Doctor. Apparently, the man couldn't take subtle hints. Perhaps an overt one would have to be used. To that end, he made a step toward The Doctor and between him and Beverly.

"This is a problem purely of this place. No one's worlds or secrets have anything to do with it." There was a challenge in his tone and stance. The Doctor needed to drop his questions or Richard would take measures. "I suggest you stop pressing on matters unimportant to the present situation."

Quietly and sincerely, "Sorry." Then reaching into his inside suit pocket pulls out a bag of jelly babies; "Care for a jelly baby?"

He feels Richard's eyes narrow at him but pretends The Doctor doesn't. He is going to drop it. He thought there was a lead.

Ten rubs the back of his neck with his free hand.

Moss at each scene with the blood. This moss has spine fluid with it; also duplicates seem to be coming out of this.

The Doctor pops his mouth, and wonders if - both the Sontarans and Zygons have ways of cloning other species both of which are very messy as they keep the original alive -somehow. In a living skin or some sort of liquid but still alive so the copies can refresh so to speak.

This isn't Zygons or Sontaran's - its plant-based; no doubt about that now with the spine fluid on the moss.

It's been a half dozen lives since The Doctor has met any plant-based aliens. They could have evolved. Changed.
The Doctor didn't recognize the Krillitane's with Mr. Finch.

The War changed so many species and killed others completely off or nearly extinct.

The Doctor doesn't hear what Richard said as someone is very obviously lost in their own head. Obviously, gears are moving and there may be a flicker here or there that someone is older than they look.

Okay, Bev is a little impressed by Richard right now. After her time in Riverview, and here in the Sphere, she knows that there are adults who stand up for kids, but she's never really needed (not that she feels like she really needs it) an adult to stand up for her like this. Jeff and Cam were great, and she knows that Aaron and Eric would kill someone if they needed to protect her, but this is different, this is subtle and without violence and it reassures her in a way that she's not felt reassured in a long time.

"What's a jelly baby?" There's suspicion in her tone and she looks to the Doctor again for a moment before she just looks around again. "Where are you from?"

Richard recognizes the look in The Doctor's eyes. His have the same look, only not nearly as old as this man's. He also recognizes that the man is lost in his own thoughts. He's done the same to Alex on more than one occasion to know what it looks like. "They're disturbing looking jelly beans."

Other than his comment to Beverly, he wants to see what this man will come up with.

His ears really can't ignore jelly and baby; "Candy." Ten replies and picks out an orange one and chews that with delight and keeps the bag near Bev's level in case she changes her mind. Don't mind him on nomming on a few more.

"Thar delicious beans." As someone suggestively licks his fingers.

"Earth." Which isn't a lie - it is his home away from home.

Bev can't keep her nose from curling up at the way that he licked his fingers, and she frowns even more tightly, stepping closer to Richard. "No you're not." The words are quick, and there's disbelief in them. "No one from Earth would actually just say Earth. They'd say like 'Derry' or 'New York' or 'London.'" London was most likely, based on the accent.

But she's staring at him, really staring at him, and his eyes are older than his face in a way that reminds her of IT, old and full of knowledge and she doesn't like it in the slightest bit. People's eyes shouldn't look that old, especially considering he looks younger than Richard himself does.

It's incredibly suspicious that he's hiding it, considering the circumstances that he's come into - which makes all his helpfulness and knowledge suspicious too. It puts everything into question. Still, Beverly was the one to discover it, so he'll let her push unless she needs assistance.

This is where he needed Rose - Rose would have said London. Ten eyes between the both of them and feels a bit put into a corner.

However, gently remarks as his eyes stare back at Bev's - those eyes have seen a lot of good and a lot of bad.

"Does it really matter where I'm from? Isn't more important that with what we've found means everyone is still alive somewhere?"

A pause; "I'm a wander. A traveler. I don't really have a place to call home but Earth is the closest place I have."

"Are you an angel like Angel is?" She'd heard Angel call herself a traveler and say something similar to this, but this man definitely didn't seem like Angel did. Angel didn't seem to have the same sort of old eyes in her face like this, and Beverly doesn't know what to make of him. She knows what Stan would say, that he was an alien, but Bev doesn't know if that's something she believes in or not at this point.

He doubted that was true, and there was a part of him that wanted to tell Beverly to let it go, but this wasn't a normal time. Some stranger showing up and in the middle of a crisis and seeming to be able to do far more than anyone else seemed more like a weekday TV show than reality. So telling someone you're 'from Earth' was telling in a not-so-positive way.

Still, he let Beverly handle this.

Madame De Pompadour may say that The Doctor is an angel; but even if an angel fit into The Doctor's rules; he still wouldn't say he's one. He tries but also knows that he can be destructive.

Ten simply shakes his head; "Just a wander passing through and trying to help out before moving on."

Which is stated so sincerely as The Doctor eyes the both of them with those older than his face eyes.

Bev just frowns at him for a long moment before she replies and it’s not as curt as it otherwise might be. There’s a softness in it because she remembers how it feels to lose Stan and to have Jeff not know who she was. She knows how much it sucks. And she also knows that she’s been here a long time and was a long time in Riverview even before that. “There isn’t passing through here. You don’t get a choice you know.”

It was as kind an explanation as any he could think of, and he would have been far blunter. Richard wasn't known for his kindness, and he wasn't about to start passing something like that out now. Still, he just watched the exchange, ready to intervene should he need to.

The number of times The Doctor and his companions have been told they're not going to be going all the way back to his first life when they were supposed to be statues in a Space Museum - forever. He can't help his cockiness of not taking that super seriously; and assuming The Tardis is near by. If anything he's more curious on why they can't leave.

"Why not?" Is the simple remark.

"This isn't the world you're from; or any of us for that matter. The rules you're used to aren't applicable here, and the only thing that can send us back is the Sphere itself." He hadn't intended to interfere, but there was a smugness about The Doctor that he didn't like, and liked even less pointed in the direction of Beverly.

"People have been trying to leave for years, people who are smart and powerful and magical and whatever else. There's no leaving here unless the Sphere sends you home, and it does randomly." Because Bev has seen friends go home, and it sucks, but it makes sense. "So whatever you think you're doing differently isn't going to work. Sorry." She means it, because well... it might mean people can go home even if she doesn't know if she wants to yet.

"Because we're all from different universes and times and stuff."
