[Loki is sitting, professionally but quite comfortably, at what seems to be a desk. Whether or not this well-crafted but simple enough desk of polished hardwood in this office exists is up in the air.]

Good afternoon, all. I would like to note I have graciously accepted my nomination for the council. I'm aware all of you are quite capable of making a sound decision on this front; however, I would like to call to your attention Laurie's description of the position. Primarily, among this council seat's duties will be the planning of events, which are, by and large, entertaining affairs. I would like to remind each of you who had the pleasure of attending the Haunted House this past October that I was instrumental in its orchestration and execution, with assistance from Tommy, of course.

[He didn't forget you, Tommy, see?]

Furthermore, being as this would be the first time in which a more recent arrival were to sit the council, I would recommend choosing someone you feel listens to all of you equally, and will always have your best interests in mind. As I'm sure many of you know, one of my fellow candidates is rather fond of...intentional disbelief. To each his own, I know, but a leader should be without prejudice.

I could go on to explain that I was raised a prince, have centuries of experience, and was born to rule, but that seems a bit over the top, doesn't it?

[He smiles and inclines his head.]

I thank you for your time and leave this election in your hands.

[Hello all, enjoy a smiling, charming man who offers a brief nod of greeting.]

I have been informed that it is traditional for these 'elections' things to give a 'speech' discussing why you would be suitable for the work. So here is mine.

I am Rhy Maresh, and were I home, I would be King of the Arnesian Empire. While I am younger than the other candidates, I was raised to be a leader, and as part of that I was expected to learn much of management and how to understand the needs of those around me. While I admit I do not fully comprehend the needs of this world, I am willing to listen.

What is more, I am aware that I do not know everything about this place, and was raised to believe that no royal could ever dream to know everything. Thus it was always important to seek knowledge where it can be gained. So I give you my first promise. I promise that I know I do not know everything and thus if I am selected, I shall have no qualms in seeking the knowledge of others with information I lack to ensure I make the best choices that I am capable of.

The other promise I make? I shall plan the best events. As prince I have coordinated many balls, galas, and celebrations for my people. It has ranged from singular events, to week long instances of royal celebrations to what is called the Essen Tasch. This event was one held every three years between my kingdom and two others, an event held in the spirit of continued peace. For these grand events twelve magicians from each of the three kingdoms came to compete in extravagant magical games to show prowess and celebrate skill and mastery of the elements in combat. For the most recent celebration I not only worked with enchanters, nobles and architects to design something never before seen, three floating arenas to for combatants. I arranged balls to take place during the event, and worked with my brother to arrange enchantments that allowed us to broadcast all events through scrying rings, that everyone could hear the announcements of the games.

Oh and the balls. I do so love a good ball.

Ah, but I find myself falling into the pattern of speeches. They are things I am given to I fear.

[Rhy breathes out a quick sigh and nods to himself, because clearly he feels he's said as much as needed said.]

Beyond this, I make no promises. I feel there is little worse than making a promise one does not know they can keep. And given my lack of knowledge in some areas the last thing I want to do is make a promise, find that I lacked the proper knowledge and promised something impossible or foolish.

I know everyone's busy with their pointless democratic process in a place none of us belong, but I have a completely unrelated warning to throw out there. I've lost something and some of you may end up running into her.

[ She pauses for a second. ] Her name is Bjart. We found an egg a while ago and she hatched from it. We've tried to find information about what she is or why she was here, haven't been too successful there but we've kept her safe and isolated until now. But someone fucked up their tricks and now she's...well, [ she sounds almost sheepish here. Almost. If Charis could sound that way. Instead it just comes out as slightly unsure with an underlying current of forced sarcasm. ] we're not sure where she is.

[ Another short pause. ]

So, if you run into a glowing blue dragon, her name is Bjart. She'll probably try to eat you. Just run away and contact me or Loki. We'll come get her.

[ Another pause and then her tone is a lot more serious. ] But if anyone harms her, you'll deal with me. And a goddess of vengeance is never forgiving. [ So please don't hurt her child. ]

Enjoy your political games.
