Bright the day, my friends. I do not know what to say of our accommodations, though I count it promising that we are alive. My name is Moondance k'Treva and I am what is known as a Healing-Adept. What that means is: I am able to heal people as well as places.

[The second portion of his power has been taken from him - though he does not realize it yet. His merry, inviting tone is punctuated with a shyer smile.]

Thank you. [He is following admirably, brushing back his pale hair as they approach the dome.] I do appreciate your help.

Yeah, well, heroic thing to do and all that. Not much to say. I'm just helpful and awesome.

So you see yourself as a hero? I will remember that. [Just like one of the Heralds, so young and bright.]

I am a hero. I save people and the world. I'm on a team back home and everything. My parents were heroes. My grandparents were villains. My great grandparents were heroes. There's a whole legacy thing.

[Is he supposed to know this?]

I see, I see. [He frowns faintly. So there were...villains...in the mix too?] I do not come from a world where we have "heroes" or "villains". There are the Heralds, who are defenders of Valdemar, and then, of course the Tayledras, who I believe are good.

[Well, yeah, it feels like everyone should know that.]

These Heralds got super special magic powers?

[moondancing]

[Sorry, he missed the memo.]

Some of them, yes. We find that magic appears as it is needed. There is but one truly powerful Herald-Mage and I fear they keep him too busy.

[doubled_speed]

[Magic appears as it's needed? If that's true back home, what horrors are coming that needs his brother?]

Man, life is just like that. Too much to do. Not enough time.

[See, Tommy can't do much of anything without running. So he rolls his eyes and turns them through another dome toward another tunnel. This one marked for farms.]

You'll go down this tube to find the farms. At least, today you will. Sometimes I feel like either my internal maps are off, or there are sometimes domes that didn't exist before.

[Let's hope nothing happens to his legs or feet!]

So this place is up to some mischief! [He doesn't look worried about the transformations.] There are places like that where I work.

You are impatient. [A trait of youth. He too is considered impatient and rash by his elder Mages.] I will be as lost as you, but I find it fascinating instead of an irritation.

I'm a mutant speedster. What strikes you as impatience is actually just a vastly different perception of time. Time is subjective, man.

[And when his irritation can stretch out into the feeling of days before someone else can blink, things definitely qualify as truly worth being impatient over.]

...I suppose. [He hasn't encountered someone like him before.] I do not understand how you see this world, admittedly, and I would like to learn.

You can't see the world like I can. I'm unique here.

[Which isn't very isolating. It's just making him special.]

I think you are unique wherever you travel. All the more reason for you to teach.

Uh, see, the thing is? Not the fastest. There are others faster than me, better than me, so not really all THAT unique.

If there are only a handful of others like you, I would say that qualifies you as quite unique.
