cw: parental murder, blood, general craziness and demons?

[ What's most apparent is that he's not in his body, not his real body. The knife is still solid in his hand as he goes into his parent's room. He doesn't really want to do it but they've already been using him and now he knew that they were trying to do the same thing to other children -- using them as pawns to summon demons and start the apocalypse.

He had to stop them. No one else would stop them, after all, and they were going to destroy everything good in the world just like they'd destroyed him. When he'd been just a baby a portal had been opened, one that never closed. He'd been used in their attempt to take away all the good. He knew even at the young age of 11 that he was too far gone, damaged, but they couldn't take away the simple beauties in life for everyone else, like sunsets. Simon loved sunsets and his parents and those like them wanted to destroy that for everyone.

So, what came next was violent and unhinged. His parents were asleep when he first starts to stab them. He keeps stabbing and stabbing. Everything is covered in blood and what's left behind is a scene from a horror movie.

But the next thing you know, Simon's in his bed, there's no blood but his parents are certainly dead. ]

[Alex doesn't know what to say for a moment, but she can still smell blood around her, and feel it on her hands for a moment even though there's no blood on him. Or on her. There's an itch that feels like there wants to be blood there, but in the end it's all she can do but to just take a few deep breaths before she responds softly and the words are laced and woven with every single bit of Alex's single minded determination:]

We're going to save the sunsets, Simon.

[There's a long pause before Richard actually speaks.]

I think you need a drink.

[ Sometimes, Alex is very good at knowing exactly the right thing to say. Simon doesn't say anything at first, though. The whole thing is a bit... jarring to him despite all the strange things. ]

I know. [ Because Alex is the one that can save the world. ]

What would I need a drink for?

There's any number of answers to that.

Okay. [There's a soft smile in her voice before she adds:]

Are you okay? With this whole thing being out, I mean. It's not like home where people have to listen to the podcast to know you.

Yeah it does. It sucks. Is there anything I can do for you though?

[Alex will tell people to fuck off for him if she needs to.]

It was not the end of it.

That hardly means a drink isn't warranted. It was an offer, however, not a demand.

Then you did the right thing. A good thing.

[Whether she (or Richard honestly) like it or not, Simon is one of her people now. Especially when they’re all here and not in the real world where Simon has people of his own now. So she just sighs softly.]

I don’t know. Tell them it needed to be done. That your parents are monsters I guess.

Why do you want me to have a drink with you?
