An Angel's Magic 🌼 Memory Share

The sky is blue swirled with lighter hues of purple and yellow, dotted with thick fluffy clouds and yet, you know that it'll never rain. It is a world of spring, rebirth and light. It is your home. It fills you with not only purpose but strength and happiness as well. The light around you shines as you look down at the ruins that make up your home. White stone glimmers in the sunlight while long vines of green twist over every surface.

This was her home.

The view pulled back to show a young girl of eight or night. Her skin was white, glowing and shimmering with magic. Bright starling purple eyes looked up at the screen as if there was something beyond it that had caught her interest. The young girls hair was white, falling to her shoulders as if magic leaked from the thin tendrils into her skin. Her entire body radiated with power and magic. It was her body. White angelic wings curled around her back, wrapping around her shoulders like a feathered cloak.

"Young one." A kind but gruff voice called to her and she turned. The image pulled out a little more showing an older man with kind blue eyes. His hair was grayed with a thick beard. He wore white robes and held a knotted pale wooden staff in his hands. "It is time for you to control your magic. Focus and reform."

The little girl frowned but then gave a determined nod. "Yes, elder."

She closed her eyes and felt something inside of her resist the change. This was her turn form but she'd burn out if she stayed this way. She was like the sun. She was warm and bright but she'd burn out. She ignored the uneasy feeling blossoming in the pit of her stomach and focused again. She saw the elders blue eyes in her mind but something altered and shivered as if it too was wrong. When she opened her eyes again the eerie purple was replaced by a soft blue gray. Her light touched skin began to soften and gain color but her hair remained white, power flowing from the tips of the strands into her wings.

"I can't..." Her voice trembled as she looked up at her mentor.

He frowned at her and shook his head. "You must young one. Focus."

She looked down at the ground and focused. Her breathing steadied as her hair began to change. It started at the roots and then grew down the curve of white as a wheat blond grew in its place. Her hair passed her shoulders and for a moment the ends continued to leak magic into her wings. Her skin softened more, gaining a light tan hue that resembled that of a human girl.

She smiled up at her elder. "I did it!"

He shook his head at her, his expression more sever than before. She was taking to look and looking back on it now, she knew that he was wondering if it was all a mistake. "No child." His voice was calm and patient. "Your wings should remain hidden as well. They are a part of your magic."

She frowned and looked back at the white feathered wings. They weren't glowing anymore but they were a part of her. "Okay." She exhaled again and slowly, painfully, her wings retracted into her tiny body. They shouldn't have fit but they had too.

When she finished she was kneeling on the ground with tears streaking down her pale cheeks. She wore a white robe similar to the elders though it was simpler in its design. She continued to cry as scarlet drops of red stained the white fabric.

"Good." His voice was warm and proud but he didn't move towards the crying child. Instead he turned and left her there.

She hadn't thought it would hurt but it had and the memory of the pain twisted through her body as a wrongness sat in the pit of her stomach. She curled up on the lovely white stone and cried until there was nothing left inside of her.

As the memory faded, the young girl opened her eyes and looked up at the sky. Her lips moved but her voice couldn't be heard.

It's hard to know who can be trusted sometimes.

[He's not saying she can't be. Just that some people have to be wary to survive.]

What do you want to know about me?

Everything. Okay. Where should we start?

[His favorite game as a child? He hadn't thought about that in awhile. He hasn't had time for games in years, though.]

Winterfell was a good place to play hide and seek. There were plenty of places to hide. Sometimes you might not find someone for hours. What I enjoyed the most was when we'd chase each other around, though. It was just me and Robb at first, and then Bran. Rickon was young, but he tried his best anyway. Even Arya joined in.

Usually just chase each other some more.

[His childhood had mostly been a happy one, except for the moments when Lady Stark made it obvious how she felt about him.

Who says we can't?

[Goodness knows he could use something lighthearted after everything going on in Westeros, and the new knowledge of his true identity, and how important it was for that secret to be kept.]
