[He supposed this was something like a podcast or a radio show, only instead of recording one's voice and posting it only, one simply thought and it was so. Useful if a little cumbersome, fascinating though. His voice, a deep baritone, warm and welcoming in tone, was softly accented and sounded vaguely western European.]
Good evening...what is it we call ourselves? Citizens? Spherites? Spherians? [A self-deprecating chuckle filters across the network before he continues.] Which do you prefer?
[A sigh, and a moment's pause.]
Forgive me. I digress. If I understand our situation correctly, many of you have been here for some time, a year or even more in some cases, yes? What do you make of this place? Even those of us who have only been here a short time, I would know your minds as well. I can understand your predicament is troubling, and why not? To my knowledge, such a structure should be physically impossible, and I've yet to find any record of schematics explaining the construction. That's to say nothing of the means of communication with which we've been provided.
Very disconcerting, I know, but it is, and thus it can be understood. I'd like to know how far we've come. Thank you in advance.
[There's a beat before he chuckles again.]
Forgive my lack of manners. My name is Antonio. It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance.
(OOC: If you'd like, we can totally continue the threads on his TDM post! We can continue them here or there, whichever you'd prever!)

Re: Video; Continued
[Interesting, and apparently at odds with others' perspectives.]
I spent some time in that part of the world. It's a beautiful country, if rough.

The timing isn't the same but many things it does is repetitive in some way.
[She smiles a little thinking of home. It's a sad smile but not entirely depressing. She has a lot of bad memories of her home but she has a lot of good ones too.]
It is. I haven't seen it for some time. [She misses it but it doesn't feel like she can go back there. Not without her brother.]

[Something benevolent has an agenda. A program, though, is cold and remorseless.]
A shame, but many things stand in one's way. I understand.
no subject
[She thinks so too.]
I wish I had better news for you but that does seem to be how it is.
Yes.
Where are you from?
no subject
[And that's all he's going to say on the topic.]
Earth, New York, specifically.
no subject
There is something to be said about being optimistic about it.
I see.
I have seen upstate New York but I had to flee after a few years of living there. I haven't gotten to see as much of the city.
no subject
[And a fascinating one, but they could get back to that.]
What were you fleeing from?
no subject
[Her lip[s tilt into a frown but she continues. There really is no point in hiding it here.]
People.
They don't like those with power and they wanted to control me. So I ran. [She doesn't like being treated like a weapon of mass destruction instead of a person.] I was in prison for... existing. A friend of mine broke me out and I was running since then. That was a few years ago now. But it's alright. The states were never my home.
[She isn't a US citizen.]

I know something of flight, of the necessity because what you are is feared and mistrusted. I'm truly sorry.
no subject
[She smiles and while it's a wistful grin it's confident and warm.]
People can't help but fear what they don't understand. I can't blame them for it. [She still wants to protect them.]
no subject
[It was true, they certainly could not. He nodded.] True, but it can make the world a lonely place

[Wanda agrees in a soft wistful voice. She's lost everything she's ever held dear to her and while it's painful, she's happy to have the memories that she has. It doesn't matter if they don't last.]
But the people here are kind. You should reach out to them if you feel lonely. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.
no subject
I'm sure I will, Wanda, thank you. You're welcome to do the same.
no subject
Why don't we set up a meeting. After you're more settled we can talk more.

no subject
Me too. I'll see you then.
[With that she hangs up.]
