Video: UN - Maresh - Filtered Away from Kell
[Hey look, another one of these silly little video posts because the Maresh brothers are MADE of drama, and look, Sphere, if you thought Rhy was a dramatic man before, you've never seen him with his brother around.
And speaking for Rhy, he looks a bit... tired.]
Forgive me for being so particular, but I was informed by a little bird that my brother recently decided to attempt to interrogate others regarding myself. And while we have spoken since then and I believe found some balance, I find myself curious as to what people told him about me.
If there any fires that I need to put out, so to speak.

[Yes, prior. Rhy sighs.]
I had not been telling him our parents had passed. He forced the isse.

[And there it is. He sure feels responsible for that one...]
You should know that... I was um— probably largely responsible for that. I had no idea he was from a time prior to your own, and he wanted to know what I knew of you both. I... thought it was fair that he know what I knew of him, some of it is his secret as much as yours.
[His face turns to a small frown, uncomfortable and apologetic.]
I didn’t give him specifics, no actual details... Just a general idea that I knew. Then he asked about them— your parents. I told him I that you never spoke of them, and that I presumed it was a painful subject. I um... I realized then that he was not from your time.

I know, and I feel the fool for it. I just thought I should... tell you, and apologize. Not that it changes anything, but I am sorry, Rhy.
[He sighs at that, knows well that apologies mean very little at the end of the day. It was actions that counted.]

I uh— I presume that even if he had such a notion, he wouldn’t have brought it up anyway?
Perhaps it helped that I spoke with him briefly once before? An accidental broadcast I caught before either of us properly knew who the other was.
no subject
[Still, his brother had been rude to do this to him, right? To spy.]

A thought came to him, tilting his head absentmindedly he added,]
Mm... He actually lives in the same dorm. Did he mention that he’s currently occupying your pod?
[Not Rhy’s pod now, but it had been.]
no subject
Tell me, Llewellyn, did you walk in on him having a fuss in the bed, as you did myself?
no subject
Mm... Well! He didn’t throw a pillow at me, if that’s what you mean?
[Shaking his head, he continued.]
We were speaking on the network and I did walk out of the kitchen to see him there though. So it was... oddly similar in some ways.
[If Llewellyn were being honest, it had been rather weird.]
—and I believe that he wasn’t amused to learn of this. There was a moment where his expression seemed fairly annoyed after I told him.
no subject
[Annoyed, yes that sounds like his brother. It earns a true laugh.]
Well, he deserved it, given what he did to me after.
no subject
I’ll never argue that I deserved it! Only that you should have thrown your own instead of your neighbour’s.
[The detective’s expression shifts a little at that, just slightly concerned.]
Mm... he didn’t uh— punch you or anything... Right? He mentioned waiting until he didn’t feel like it at least.
no subject
[Punch him? Interesting.]
Oh, it would be foolish for him to do so. We're tied together, remember? To strike me would be akin to striking himself.
no subject
[Llewellyn tended to be a paranoid sort, as Rhy probably realized by now.]
I’m glad that he didn’t punch you then.
Mm... You are alright though, I hope...? After whatever he did end up doing.
no subject
[And the weight of those words is undeniable.]
no subject
[Oh... Oh dear... That might be worse than striking Rhy, in its own way. Alucard was such a complicated topic, Llewellyn knew that well enough since the memory share.]
Do you mm... Do you need anything? To talk?
[He knew Kell and Alucard didn’t get along form their prior conversations on the subject, and he can’t help but feel concerned for what might have been said to leave Rhy in a hurt state.]

Were it that simple...
[His mind hung on to things he’d rather forget, and dropped memories that he’d like to remember. If he knew how it worked, he supposed might be a different man.]
I’m afraid I can only offer an ear, or um... perhaps a distraction if you’d like me to bring you some pretzels or a drink.
no subject
Yes, I know how futile it is. But no, my friend. I think I need to process this myself. And I fear I would be unfair to you.
no subject
[He knows what it means to need extra time to process something, and how hard it is when someone just expect you to accept something and move on without giving yourself that time needed.]
Mm... But I can’t imagine you being unfair to me. I asked, after all. So the offer still stands, if you decide you need it.

Don’t worry about that, Rhy. There’s no need to apologize... I’m more concerned for you right now than I am with that.
[He reached up to tap the circle behind his ear though, keeping the man talking wasn’t giving him the time he needed. It was delaying it, and Rhy deserved some time to his thoughts.]
Take all the time you need to think, just... know that a friend is there if you need one.
