Bonjour!

[Eponine is bright on the screen, smiling so bright her dimples are visible. She stands behind a bar, a colorful display of bottles behind her.]

With help of my dear Robb, we have opened up a tavern! I hope you will all come celebrate with us at the grand opening of Le Gavroche. It is named for my little brother, you see, at Robb's suggestion. There are many drinks here- though they are not yet the fancy mixed kind I have seen. Those, I shall have to learn in time. But there are pints and glasses of wine to be had, warm bread for all who seek it!

We will have an opening night party, as well, and you are all invited! I would like my new friends there, to see what we have done. And I will show you how we party in Paris!

Huh. You mean like it's a name for royalty or something? Well screw them, hoarding all the cool names. It's yours, so you should keep it.

Uh, that's cool though. About the dress. I guess. I don't know a lot about dresses. I don't have to wear a suit to this bar, right?

Oui, something like that. Eponine is descended from Epona, a Roman Goddess. As you can tell, I am hardly a goddess. I do not even like horses!

[And Epona was the horse goddess. WHAT DO YOU KNOW?]

Of course, most men do not. You need not, only to dress in what is comfortable to you. I would be loathe to deny someone food and drink if they have the sous for it, but not the clothing. Before I came here, I had but a chemise and skirt to my name! My family, we all shared one pair of shoes. They were too big for me, so I would stuff the toes with newspaper. I would have rather been barefoot.

[Richie grins. His brain is full up on random facts and general knowledge he'll never need, and Epona the Goddess and protector of horses is buried in there for sure.]

You- you shared one pair of shoes!? Shit dude, I bet the arguments over whose turn it was were incredible.

Oui. Whomever was going out would wear them- unless my father had us delivering his letters. Then we went barefoot to appear all the more destitute.

[Not that the Thénardier girls had needed any help in that department.]

I did not like wearing them. They made too much noise, but they did keep my feet warmer in the winter.
