[Alex, for her part looks entirely exhausted. She still hasn’t recovered from everything, but then again when does Alex Reagan actually sleep. At least her makeup is back so the circles below her eyes aren’t as noticeable as they could be. Sitting in her office on the sofa, Alex has a big gray pit-bull arranged over her legs like a blanket, and she’s absently petting him while she speaks.
Which honestly? She kind of doesn’t want to do it. But this is Alex Reagan, and news is in her blood. So here they are.]
So yeah. This is weird I guess. I’ve been trying to process a bit, but I want to put the story together as much as I can and I need to hear from you guys to do that. From what I know so far, at least from what we’d investigated before everything went back to normal. Or normalish I guess. This definitely still isn’t normal. But there’s no other way to say it.
It seems like the people who went missing, the 237 of them? They weren’t real people. As far as I can tell they never were. Harry Dresden used magic to check if they were, and they weren’t. I was, and I’m assuming that the people who are here still are. But all of their possessions are gone, the missing people’s I mean. We found some of their journals and things, and it was basically just words written over and over. Their voices disappeared from recordings too. I don’t know why.
Max and Laurie and Jon and Annie are gone, but their things are still here. I guess that means they’re coming back? I hope so I mean anyway.
[Alex just shakes her head and brushes the heel of her palm against her forehead.]
I know that for me at least when we went in to talk to the Sphere, it offered me basically a happy ever after if I turned on all of you. I didn’t obviously. Did the rest of you have the same sort of conversation? I. It’s weird. That’s all. It’s just weird.
[Alex is just going to sigh and move on. Because lord this is a lot. But she also know that her own experience isn’t just what happened. ]
I know from Beverly that people going to try and restart things at the power station ended up needing to face nightmare-like things. What else did people need to do?
[A pause and then.]
On a different note, I know that it’s not like an official festival or anything like the sort that we’d normally have here--or at least did I guess--but back home today would have been Thanksgiving. I’ve spoken to some of the restaurant people, and now that the food is back, and the power is on, we’re going to do a sort of… spur of the moment thing tomorrow. People are welcome to come if they want. And to bring things from home for celebrations or whatever. They’ll be things like turkey and pie and potatoes and stuffing. What’d you expect obviously. I hope to see you all there. If nothing else, we deserve a chance to reconnect from things over the last to months.
Um for anyone new here, or [More disturbingly] if you’ve forgotten or something, I’m Alex. Alex Reagan.

Merchant's dome? I'll meet you in 30.

Sounds good.
[Alex just laughs before she disconnects and then she is in the merchant dome drinking a coffee and waiting for Harry to show up. ]
action;
[Harry does not disappoint, showing up at the appropriate time (and actually 3 minutes early, contrary to historic precedent) smiling as he approached.]
We shouldn't meet like this. People will talk.
Re: action;
[Alex just laughs softly and she gives a little shrug that she can’t help.]
I mean they’re going to talk no matter what. I’m kinda used to it at this point.
[The problem with people shipping you on the internet based on your show.]
Re: action;
[If Alex wasn't someone else's girl he might almost catch himself going to flirt with her. Almost. And then he reminded himself that Alex was an investigative reporter and how badly that had gone. Just thinking of Susan still stung. Get your head back in the game, Harry.]
Yeah, trust me, I know. A guy and a girl can't go anywhere together without people getting ideas.
[His brother was the worst of them.]

Even if now she and Richard have been together longer than they hadn't in the time they've known one another.]
It makes it worse when they're actually right, honestly. Then they're pretty damned insufferable.

Maybe he should make a move at some point.
Or he could just continue wallowing. That sounded easier.]
Well, whoever's right or wrong isn't around at the moment, so I think we're in the clear.

[Alex for her part would definitely suggest making a move at some point. Life’s too short for someone not to make a move really. Especially in a life like Harry’s.
Even if she knows how many people have said that they knew about Richard and Alex before they’d dropped the last episode of their show.
Still she laughs softly. I’m <\small>]
I’m pretty sure Richard knows better at this point than to assume I’m flirting with other people. At least intentionally.

So. Coffee and contacts?
