UN: Iveheardthetinderjoke An unintentional but Sphere intentional broadcast)
[This is clearly someone's unintended video post. There's a grimy hand picking up a bottle of nearly finished scotch, and pouring it into a dirty glass. The glass rises, and is damned nearly drained before it's set back on the desk. Around the man, there are several empty bottles as well. Looking around, there's also food waste and it's fresh. Whatever it is, these have definitely been here for a few days. Maybe even a week really even if the amount of the plates don't give that away. It's not as if Max really has any reason to like actually fucking eat.
When he becomes away of the fact that he's broadcasting the perspective shifts, and Max looks like he's not slept or showered in weeks. His eyes are overly intense, bordering on being even worse than they were when he told people not to listen to Annie. As his words slur, it's a combination of both the alcohol and his anger.]
Fuck this fucking piece of shit place.
[Ladies and gentlemen, this is your head of the council, back for a week without posting about it or being seen.]

[Rhy is not amused.]
Shall I come over and clean up?

Yeah. I guess it ain’t but I also do not give a fuck. At all.
[Obviously.]

Because Max is clearly not doing well and he heard what the man was like before he was spirited away by the sphere.]
Max, you’re um... back. I’m glad. Everyone’s been quite worried.
[The question is, is he sober enough to discuss what happened.]
no subject
[It's a sharp and barked word.]
I'm sure they've given a fuck.
no subject
[In their own way, right?]
Like Rhy was worried enough to hire me to find you all.
[Which he’s sure Max will call out, because yeah, that was a futile search on his part. He only hoped the knowledge that some people wanted him found might make the whole questions part easier. He doubted it, but he was still trying.]
no subject
Yeah did a damn fine job of it considering I’ve been here in my office the whole time.
[Most of it passed out below the desk, honestly. He doesn't blame Watts for not seeing him.]
no subject
Well, uh— I did start with frequent places you and the others would be when you all disappeared. I even checked back after Jon reappeared, and I saw no sign of you. But you’re right, in the end I failed the task given to me.
[Passed out under the desk is a good way to avoid being found though, which admittedly he wouldn’t be surprised to learn considering the collection of alcohol bottles scattered around.]
That said... I hate to ask this, but there are still others missing. Jon has no memory of where she’d been the whole time, and she said she can’t feel Laurie anymore... Do you remember anything prior to your return?
no subject
What I remember ain’t any of your fucking business.
no subject
Perhaps not, but if there is anything you’d care to share, I would appreciate it. Jon is worried, and rightfully so.
[Everyone is. Though he doubted Max cared about that, all things considered.]
... Even if you just reach out to her with anything that might help her? If you don’t want to talk, I won’t hound you further.
[He can’t make anyone talk, after all. Nor would he only ask questions until Max hung up on him. That would only be counterproductive at this point. If anything, maybe Jon would let him know if anything important came up. She was, at least, slightly more agreeable than Max.]
no subject
Laurie will tell her when she gets back.
no subject
If you decide there are things you want to share, you know how to get a hold of me. I’ll let you get back to uh— it.
[‘It’ being drinking.]
no subject
[Max just throws a bottle of bourbon against the wall.]
no subject
Also, he couldn’t help but bristle inwardly. Max didn’t know what kind of life he led back in Toronto, and it was not (nor could he truly say it ever had been) what one would describe as ‘happy.’ His tone is rather shorter, with a barely contained emotion. He’s trying to be a professional here...
So much for not bothering Max further. ]
I don’t know what you mean by that, Max. It’s supposed to send everyone home eventually, why not you all?
no subject
Because it can’t! We’re stuck here! Not you. You get to go home whenever it gets shit fixed. But us? Me, Jon and Laurie? This is it for us now. It can’t send us home. Our worlds don’t exist.
no subject
Hellfire, this was complicated.]
I hadn’t known that... I’m sorry, Max.
no subject
Yeah. Me too.
no subject
I um... I won’t bother you to talk about things further... but if you find yourself wanting someone to talk to, not for the purpose of uh— [A vague pause, he probably gestured awkwardly to suggest all the heck of the investigation and his nosiness,] My door is open.
no subject
I don’t need to talk. I just need to drink more. If I die enough I won’t remember and then I won’t give a fuck.
no subject
no subject
It does here. You die enough you lose shit. I’ve died six times now.
no subject
He’ll look into that fact another time though, right now there’s this whole mess. He knows people care about Max.]
Mm... Even so, that doesn’t change my suggestion or offer. There are people who would want you to reach out to them.
no subject
Yeah well, some folks just can’t be help and should be left alone.
[And Max disconnects because fuck this conversation.]

Are you alright? Do you need healing? I can come to you.
no subject
[Nope, not even Inesa can get through to her at this point.]
no subject
[A beat.]
Please call on me Max.
no subject
Sure will.
[He won’t ]

Oh good. You’re still here. I thought maybe you’d gone home.

Aww, are you saying you'd miss me? How could I do that to you?

You know, Max, speaking of changing...would you be willing to submit yourself to a little test?
