[Llewellyn is annoyed, his brows furrowed severely (more so than usual) as he regarded the network with a deep frown. There’s something rather off about him, frown aside, but it might not be obvious at first...

It’s been a couple days since the 25th, and it seems that he’s been driven to distraction by something. He’s been looking everywhere, with no success.]

I’m not particularly optimistic in asking this, but have any of you seen my hat? Grey felted homburg. Mm... for anyone who doesn’t know hats, it’s a little like a bowler but with a dent in the top. A little worn, but in good condition?

[Ah, that’s it. That’s what’s different! His nicely kept, curly hair isn’t obscured by his usual old-fashioned hat.]

And before any of you bring it up? Yes! I do understand that the idea of a detective not being able to find something is amusing.

[He still expects someone is going to tease him about this, but the attempt to avoid that had to be made. He’s grumpy, he’s used to having his hat. His head feels weird when he goes out without it, it’s distracting!

Shrugging lightly, he continued.]

I do have a habit of leaving it in rather random places, so if I’ve been to your dome or establishment and taken it off, I thought I might have done so.

They were capable of moving on their own, for all we never got to see it... I don’t think their disappearance coinciding with the hat’s disappearance should be overlooked? From some of the other responses I’ve gotten, people also received things.

So I think it needs further investigating.

... Did you notice anything missing or appearing when yours left?

[Enis doesn't have a lot of personal items, so it doesn't take long for her to find what's missing.] That pointy eared bastard! [She kicks one of the towers of spare parts in the back room of the mechanic shop and there is a loud defining crash.]

[Hearing the outburst, Llewellyn winced a little. Oof. Clearly she was not someone who had received something, and could be added to the list of people who’d been robbed by Christmas elf dolls.]

I presume that something is indeed missing? What did the uh— elf take?

The SD card with all my music on it.

[It's incredibly special to her and something that she doesn't talk about. Her music was her heartbeat, putting everything in the songs she created and now it's gone. She can create more but it feels as if she's lost her past again... it's been stolen from her.]

[She didn’t need to say how important it was, her reaction to having lost it got the point across to the detective.]

Criminy... I’m sorry, Enis. I’ll be sure to look out for it as well. Perhaps the elves who took things put them somewhere?

[Llewellyn was more willing to believe they just up and disappeared, but the detective isn’t in the habit of just accepting things. He had to try first.]

[Enis is pissed and there is nothing that Watts can say to temper her anger. She's always looking for a reason to be grumpy and now she has one.]

Mm... Perhaps for fun, perhaps for another reason. Some people have reported receiving items upon their disappearance, after all.

Almost as though it was a reward/punishment system?

[She'd ignored it, tossed it out of the way a few times but otherwise tried her best to ignore it.]

Hmm... So maybe not. I uh— didn’t realize that it might be some kind of test. Thought it was a toy meant for Pretzel since a few people have been bringing him some.

[It hadn’t liked being a chew toy, apparently.]

If you wanted toys for Pretzel you should have just told people.

[She rolls her eyes at him.]

If I had known this would happen I would have fed mine to Pretzel.

It’s not that I wanted them. People have been bringing him toys, so I mistook the elf for something like that before I realized what it was.

[And he winced a little at the idea. On the off chance this did have something to do with the way they treated the dolls, who knew how much worse it could have been.]

[She'll bring Pretzel a toy anyway. Just in case.]

Anyway... I am going to attempt to restore that data. If I am lucky, I can find a way on my laptop. [If not... she'll be more annoyed.]
