Video - un: detwatts | Of Missing Hats
[Llewellyn is annoyed, his brows furrowed severely (more so than usual) as he regarded the network with a deep frown. There’s something rather off about him, frown aside, but it might not be obvious at first...
It’s been a couple days since the 25th, and it seems that he’s been driven to distraction by something. He’s been looking everywhere, with no success.]
I’m not particularly optimistic in asking this, but have any of you seen my hat? Grey felted homburg. Mm... for anyone who doesn’t know hats, it’s a little like a bowler but with a dent in the top. A little worn, but in good condition?
[Ah, that’s it. That’s what’s different! His nicely kept, curly hair isn’t obscured by his usual old-fashioned hat.]
And before any of you bring it up? Yes! I do understand that the idea of a detective not being able to find something is amusing.
[He still expects someone is going to tease him about this, but the attempt to avoid that had to be made. He’s grumpy, he’s used to having his hat. His head feels weird when he goes out without it, it’s distracting!
Shrugging lightly, he continued.]
I do have a habit of leaving it in rather random places, so if I’ve been to your dome or establishment and taken it off, I thought I might have done so.

I admit, I’m a little concerned that it might just be gone. It’s been missing since those unsettling elf toys disappeared.

[He’s still sounds like he’s frowning. Who would mess with a man’s headwear?]
It’s not exactly a common design here, so it usually stands out if I set it down? And yet... I’ve spent the better part of the last few days trying to find it.
no subject
Huh. I wonder what happened to it. I can come help look if you want.
no subject
[He hummed a little,]
The only places I haven’t been able to look are personal domes, and I can’t um... go snooping in those without the person who owns them. So if you could check your office, perhaps?
no subject
Of course I will. God, if the Sphere thinks that we're like errant little children or something for not liking that I'm going to scream.
no subject
[All powerful beings that control a world looking at them as though they were in need of minding? Yeah, he’d believe it.]
But yes... thank you. It’s very distracting, as ridiculous as I imagine it sounds.
no subject
I don’t think it’s ridiculous at all actually. I mean I would be distracted too if it was like my recorder or something.
no subject
Really? Mm... I’m glad you didn’t lose your recorder, then. But uh... yeah, I keep going to put it on or realize it’s not there when I’m out? Not sure what I can do though, not if the elves had anything to do with it.

[He paused for a moment, realizing belatedly how awkward that sounded. Not to mention...]
The way you say that makes me wonder if you’ve used tracking devices before.
[Hold on... Is that how she finds him so easily?]
Audio - UN: detwatts
I have used tracking devices before. They're useful when you care about where something is. I have one in my laptop. [Among other places.]
no subject
... somewhere, William Murdoch is probably making the face and doesn’t know why.]
I suppose that I’m really asking if you’ve used them with people?
[Like him, Enis. Are you tracking him? Because wow, he’s constantly on the move.]
no subject
[She isn't above tracking you. For the moment she uses traditional means to stalk her friend.]
no subject
[His tone is somewhat resigned, he knows better by now. Make no promises that you aren’t sure you can keep. Although he supposed if that was the case, then she was just excellent at stalking him through regular means.
... Fantastic. Not unsettling at all.
He sure was glad they were friends! Otherwise he’d actually be worried.
Clearing his throat a little awkwardly, he continued.]
I suppose that all of this means you haven’t seen my hat around your shop, correct?
[Another place to cross off the list.]
no subject
[She even moved around some stuff to make sure it hadn't fallen behind or beneath any of the junk she's collected.]
Also, I won't chip or stalk you detective, so relax. Unless you do something stupid because I'll have to come save your sorry ass.
no subject
[Llewellyn’s words come out a little clumsily next, if only because how many times had someone had to ‘come save his sorry ass’ back home? Several times, Murdoch had stopped him from getting murdered just in time. Sometimes he hadn’t even realized he was in danger.]
Mm... I trust that you wont.
I would ask you to define ‘something stupid,’ but I think I’m afraid to find out what the answer might be.
