[Llewellyn is annoyed, his brows furrowed severely (more so than usual) as he regarded the network with a deep frown. There’s something rather off about him, frown aside, but it might not be obvious at first...

It’s been a couple days since the 25th, and it seems that he’s been driven to distraction by something. He’s been looking everywhere, with no success.]

I’m not particularly optimistic in asking this, but have any of you seen my hat? Grey felted homburg. Mm... for anyone who doesn’t know hats, it’s a little like a bowler but with a dent in the top. A little worn, but in good condition?

[Ah, that’s it. That’s what’s different! His nicely kept, curly hair isn’t obscured by his usual old-fashioned hat.]

And before any of you bring it up? Yes! I do understand that the idea of a detective not being able to find something is amusing.

[He still expects someone is going to tease him about this, but the attempt to avoid that had to be made. He’s grumpy, he’s used to having his hat. His head feels weird when he goes out without it, it’s distracting!

Shrugging lightly, he continued.]

I do have a habit of leaving it in rather random places, so if I’ve been to your dome or establishment and taken it off, I thought I might have done so.

[Yes, now that he’s tried the word out like that, he thinks it works.]

Since I hadn’t remembered, I haven’t. [He’s now going to spend a lot of time overthinking things, because that’s what he does.] I suppose I should make some though? Do you have plans for the occasion?

That’s true! This place does usually tend to have rather good timing in its celebrations.

Yes, it... could be a little on the nose, but fun nonetheless if our other celebrations are anything to go by.

er... I don’t know that it would be outside the realm of possibility. It did make it snow back in November. If it thought it was appropriate, it probably would.

[And yet, sometimes Llewellyn’s ability to identify jokes and teasing is slightly off.]

Oof... Perhaps not, I still have trouble keeping Pretzel from eating the notes that fall out of my pocket. Falling paper hearts would probably be a feast for the little guy.

Not as much as he used to, he has more toys now for that... But uh— yes he does still go after my shoes when the mood strikes him.

Is that a possibility with dogs?

[Alex are you saying his puppy has anxious habits like he does? Not that he’s chewing on shoes, but the point was there.]

I sometimes wondered if he was just trying to get my attention when I was working.

Yeah it definitely can be! Though wanting attention is perfectly valid too!

Mm... I should look up books on dog behaviour to see if I can pinpoint which it is...? I’d hate to think he’s doing it because he’s uh— distressed and unable to get the point across.

I’m sure there’s some books in the library about it.

You're right, I don't think that I've made a trip there and been disappointed yet. I'm heading that way anyway, much to research!

[And excellent for distracting the hat thing for now.]

Of course, I Uh— can always use one to bounce thoughts around with. [He hummed a little,] Especially with that document you gave me.

[Because while he knew he’d been busy, he did want his friend to know he hadn’t really forgotten about it. It was just... slow going for obvious reasons.]

That there has, but I’m looking forward to delving further into it. It’s a priority, after all.

[Stuff concerning a friend always took priority over other things.

And really, it was good for him to work on something that was at least a little more in his comfort zone compared to things that seemed like magic or futuristic technologies.]

I keep hoping that like Nic or someone comes in from a timeline after we do, but unfortunately considering he kind of hates Richard and doesn't believe in a hell of a lot of this, it probably wouldn't be helpful.
