[Llewellyn is annoyed, his brows furrowed severely (more so than usual) as he regarded the network with a deep frown. There’s something rather off about him, frown aside, but it might not be obvious at first...

It’s been a couple days since the 25th, and it seems that he’s been driven to distraction by something. He’s been looking everywhere, with no success.]

I’m not particularly optimistic in asking this, but have any of you seen my hat? Grey felted homburg. Mm... for anyone who doesn’t know hats, it’s a little like a bowler but with a dent in the top. A little worn, but in good condition?

[Ah, that’s it. That’s what’s different! His nicely kept, curly hair isn’t obscured by his usual old-fashioned hat.]

And before any of you bring it up? Yes! I do understand that the idea of a detective not being able to find something is amusing.

[He still expects someone is going to tease him about this, but the attempt to avoid that had to be made. He’s grumpy, he’s used to having his hat. His head feels weird when he goes out without it, it’s distracting!

I do have a habit of leaving it in rather random places, so if I’ve been to your dome or establishment and taken it off, I thought I might have done so.

I honestly can’t think of many more places to look? It’s as though it’s just gone... A suspicious thing considering those dolls seem to be gone as well.

[He hummed a little,]

The only places I haven’t been able to look are personal domes, and I can’t um... go snooping in those without the person who owns them. So if you could check your office, perhaps?

As much as it annoys me to say, it’s very possible that it does.

I don’t think it’s ridiculous at all actually. I mean I would be distracted too if it was like my recorder or something.

[He supposed one could make the argument that a recorder was more useful than a hat, but it does make him feel a little better.]

Really? Mm... I’m glad you didn’t lose your recorder, then. But uh... yeah, I keep going to put it on or realize it’s not there when I’m out? Not sure what I can do though, not if the elves had anything to do with it.

I hadn’t thought of that, hats are rather different from clothing... Still! It’s worth a try. She has made some rather impressive things already. Thank you for the suggestion, Alex.

Of course. And besides I have faith that she can do anything.

A safe place to put one’s faith, I think. She made me a waistcoat recently, and it’s very impressive work. Embroidered on silk, which is not easy to my knowledge.

I think there is something to be said for the thought she puts into her work; she cares a lot...?

[He laughed a little, some of his grumpiness subsiding.]

I don’t know if Apo has a coat, but she made Pretzel something to wear if we see weather here again like the snow.

That's probably a good idea. Besides he'd look cute in it. And he really looks adorable in bandanas.

He looks quite smart in a bandana, a jacket would definitely uh— finish an outfit, hm?

Oh, that would be a nice idea! A nice way to coordinate his style.

I confess, I had forgotten about Valentine’s Day. I usually volunteered to work if someone wanted the evening off to have dinner with their sweetheart.

Since I hadn’t remembered, I haven’t. [He’s now going to spend a lot of time overthinking things, because that’s what he does.] I suppose I should make some though? Do you have plans for the occasion?

Yes, it... could be a little on the nose, but fun nonetheless if our other celebrations are anything to go by.
