[Wait, no, he's talking too fast, isn't he? Dammit. Tommy curses under his breath in several languages and then breathes deeply.]

[Ugh, he hates it when he gets hit by these moods.]

Got insomnia and allthatshit. Need my handsandmind busy. Back home I'd go running. Or work waslike building stuff. Hands and brain busy.

[And if he doesn't have something to distract him, he was going to vibrate so much something might explode.]

"Ah." He reaches behind him and picks up two sturdy fallen branches. If Tommy thought he was getting a lightsaber battle, he was wrong. "Here." Even as he tosses the weapon to Tommy he moves a blow toward the other man's torso without warning.

Like tommy wanted a lightsaber. His mood was more vibroblade anyway.

He catches the weapon easily and dances aside so fast it was like he wasn't even there.

He can't help cocking his head a little, feeling the other man's movements through the force, and predicting where he was going.

The Force can't be flawless, and Kylo's reaction time can't be perfect, right? So Tommy has no problem circling being Kylo to feint at him with the stick before circling back to the front to strike at his ribs.

Ben isn't fast enough, his senses don't pick up Tommy in enough time to block or dodge the hit and he takes it fully into his ribs. His reaction is as natural as the exhale that he lets out against the pain that courses through him. Thrusting out a hand he takes hold through The Force and grabs the energy around Tommy, holding him in place.

He's grabbed. He's held. He's confined in a way that Tommy hasn't felt before. It's a reasonable instinct with the man's power. This, though...

Panic. Fear. Tommy pushes out with his own powers, trying to vibrate free. Doesn't work. But the stick in his hand vibrates too. Too fast. It explodes in splinters, shrapnel of it sinking into his hand. At least his legs don't get shards of wood, due to the durability of his skin.

It's that fast that everything happens. That fast before Ben lets go, his hand now moving to his ribs that have passed the instant numbing shock and started to ache.

"Sorry, instinct."

Instinct doesn't help. Instinct doesn't stop the panic running through Tommy as, once freed, he backs away and holds his hand. Okay. This is bad. He needs to pull the splinters out.

"Shit, man. Shit."

"Do you need help with the splinters?" He sounds sorry because he is sorry. He didn't mean to scare the man. He's used to sparring with Rey.

Had he done anything but truly immobilized Tommy, it wouldn't have been so bad. As it was he held his shaking and injured hand out to Ben.

"Your powers stuff should be good at this, right?"

"Yeah." He walks over and takes Tommy's hand in his, raising his hand over it and pulling the splinters out with the force. They float in the air between their hands until all the splinters are out before he tosses them all to the ground.

"I should have some bandages and cream in my bag. I haven't mastered using The Force to heal like Rey has."

"You can use it to heal?" Tommy asks, taking his shirt off and wrapping his hand with it. He's tired. So tired.

"Jedi have been able to in the past," Ben digs through his bag to pull out the bandages and cream. It's not the type that Tommy would be used to seeing, it's more advanced than that. "And Rey healed me once."

He reaches out of Tommy's hand, carefully unwrapping the hand Tommy had just wrapped and putting the cream on it, rubbing it in carefully. "There isn't much that a Jedi can't do, so long as they learn how."

"Sounds like magic. Like Billy has. But probably a bit more limited."

Because he knows his brother doesn't have limitations like others do.

"I can't compare it to your magic." He doesn't know it so he can't say anything for or against it. As he's talking, he places the strips on the places where the splinters went into Tommy's hand and arms. They're more flexible than a shirt and Tommy can move his hand and arm without pain.

"How's that?"

Well, at least the guy knows first aid, Tommy supposes. And they're good ones too.

"Thanks," Tommy answers, frowning as he looks at his hand. "Sorry, being... trapped isn't my thing."

"Being hit usually isn't mine." He offers a weak smile. Usually Ben is the one giving the hits, not taking them. But only if he's not fighting Rey.

"I'm not what most people can deal with," Tommy answers with a shrug.

"I guess that's something we'll both have to get used to if we spar again." And he's only done a few things that a Jedi can do. Tommy would have to get used to them all eventually if he decided to fight with him again.

"I'm bad at feeling constricted," Tommy counters. He doesn't know that he can get better at that.

It's a weakness. His mind screams that it's a weakness. "I can help you if you want to overcome it." It's not what he wants to say, but he's trying not to be the man he once was. Not to be the man who would point out the flaws in others.

"Fuck that," Tommy curses immediately. only way to fix it is probably exposure therapy. He's rather not. "I'd be too dangerous to work with on that."

"Which is why I'm probably one of the better people to work with, but I won't pressure you."

"I could blow you up," Tommy counters.

And he wouldn't even be doing it intentionally.

"I'm willing to take the chance if you are." He'll just come back here.
