[The man who appears on the video feed is rather dashing, calculatedly so, with high chiseled cheekbones, a meticulously groomed mustache, oiled and stylish hair, and a pleasant if playful smile on his full lips and glittering in his olive eyes.]
Isn't this a rather direct introduction? "Welcome to your new home beneath an ocean, Dorian! Enjoy traipsing through the memories of your new neighbors!" I suppose it does break the ice, doesn't it? There's nothing like a shared trauma to bring people together.
[He chuckles, a sultry and deep sound before shaking his head.]
If I might distract you from your chosen entertainment, how much of the introduction is to be believed? I'd like to avoid any novice bumbling, thank you. Also, by way of proper introduction, I am Dorian Pavus of Qarinus, by way most recently of the Riverview Quarantine. [He inclines his head.] Charmed, I'm sure.

Uh, it's mostly not too false, but we're sorta like lizards kept in glass tanks apparently. Here to be observed.

[His smirk is playful, though.]
Lizards. Any of a hundred analogies at your disposal and you choose reptiles. It's...a choice, certainly. To whom do I have the pleasure?
no subject
[Wow man, of course he chose lizards. You can't play with pet reptiles.]
Tommy Shepherd. Fastest person here by a landslide.

[There was something in his eyes when he said it, a bitterness that is gone as quickly as it appeared.]
That, new friend, is an oddly specific point of pride.

Greetings Dorian Pavus of Qarinus. I am Rhy Maresh, I serve on the council here. If you would like, I have made an extended welcome guide for those people arriving in this place. I can also arrange a tour if you wish.
Sorry about the memories, though. That... happens. Usually four times a year.

[He waves a hand in dismissal.] Apologies are hardly necessary. I doubt you're responsible...unless you are, of course, in which case I'll be certain to send a strongly worded letter to your office and request recompense.
no subject
[He considers for a moment. Should he posit it aloud? He thinks so.]
A noble such as yourself.
And strongly worded letters hardly move me.
no subject
And I'll be the judge of the wine, thank you.

Uh... It’s nice to meet you, Mr. Pavus.
[Dorian there’s a lot he isn’t sure how to address. He can think of better ways to break the ice with people than ‘shared trauma,’ but sometimes his sarcasm meter is broken so... yes, he forgot to introduce himself.]
I can confirm that what we’re told seems to be, for the most part, true? Even if there’s more to it than that.
Though the sharing of our memories is an unfortunate issue with the communication device implanted in our heads. They don’t happen more than once every few months at least.
Video;
And yes, I've been told. I hardly see the point. If that...being which brought us here were interested in studying our memories, it could easily do so in private. I can only assume, then, it's point is not to study our reactions to our own scars, but how we react to the scars of others.
...or it's simply cruel, which is also possible...Detwatts? Rather an odd name, no offense.
[While he's encountered usernames in another place, he has no idea that Watts' contains an abbreviated title, nor does his homeworks have such things as detectives.]
no subject
And it’s actually just the technology not mixing well with our biology, apparently. Though the sphere does intend to watch us and see how we react to its... experiments... the memories are outside of its control.Â
[A pause, his expression more clumsy by the moment. He knew proper introductions were due from both parties, after all.]
Mm... Well, that would be an odd name if it was my name...? Pardon, it slipped my mind to add— My name is Llewellyn Watts, and I’m a detective. My username is an abbreviation of my title and surname.

Thank the Maker. Dorian will do just fine. You are not my servant and I am not your lord. I am simply a fellow captive in this little undersea adventure and as such require no formal address. Besides, all that frippery is nonsense in any case.
[He waved a hand, officially dismissing the topic.]
Ah. [He strokes the patch of beard adorning his chin thoughtfully.] That does make a degree of sense. Minds aren't meant to be connected quite so directly. There are bound to be side-effects.
[And he smiles charmingly.] Charmed to make your acquaintance, Llewellyn. What is it you detect?

Voice;
I wonder if this effect of memory is also a side-effect of the poor relation between our physiology and the Sphere's technology.
Regardless, I shall have to keep my less kind thoughts somewhat closer to the vest. Am I to call you Otter or would you prefer something more familiar?
Re: Voice;
Voice;
[Though he perks up at the mention of baths.]
I had not but I am intrigued.

You weren't, by chance, a resident of the Riverview Quarantine, were you?

Do you recall previously being here?

I remember you though. Professor Strand, yes?
Re: voice;
[It's not a question. Though, it could be from somewhere else.]
What's your theory?

I don't know if I can tell you more than you've already heard but I do have something to offer you... if you are interested. I have a shop here that sells fabrics as well as outfits. I like to offer those who have just arrived a free design that resembles their home or anywhere else they like.
If you're interested, you are welcome to come by.
I can also try and answer some questions about this place but I admit that I don't understand much of it.
video;
[Dorian does enjoy being pretty.]
Oh, I'm sure I'll puzzle it out just fine.
video;
Alright but I am happy to help in any way that I can. I have lived here in the sphere for nearly two years now.
