Okay, I realize this is kind of silly. [Yeah, she does know, but she's going with it anyway, so...] But I'm trying to make a point to X'rut who runs the ice cream parlor. What's your favorite ice cream flavor back home? What kind of toppings would you like with it?

What sort of thing do you think never should be made into ice cream? My current one is pure wasabi with pieces of pickled plums that definitely looks like mint chocolate chip. I really don't recommend it. If you've ever eaten the ball of wasabi on a dare when you were having sushi with friends and had a fair amount to drink...

[That is a fairly specific story, Alex. Surely that was never you in college.]

Well, anyway, it's like that only turned up to a thousand. I can't imagine anyone enjoying it and salty plums. So let's give them a good idea of what kind of ice cream we would eat.

I would think they definitely have gingerbread during Christmas time.

We only have seasonal flavors sometimes, and gingerbread is one of them, but maybe if you talk to them they can make it at other times.

Okay..[The word sounds strange to her, not a word she was familiar with, but she understood the context.

There's a few minutes before she finds out how to turn off the footage.

She waited was in the main quarters when she shot the video, so it was a matter of simply waiting till Mistress Alex arrived. Even after some weeks within this world, she couldn't completely break from the clothing styles provided for her: long gowns of elaborate embroidery, albeit thinner fabrics for the heat, and velvet, short rimmed hat, tilted to give a jaunty look.

With the lack of servants, it was up to her to open the door when the young lady arrived.] Mistress Alex, good afternoon.

[Alex is wearing her normal sort of uniform for here in the dome: a pair of jeans, a sweater and a scarf along with her requisite bag over her shoulder. When Anne opens the door, there's a little look of surprise on her face, but not much of one. She does, after all know Seregil and Alec, and the Vikings, so they're all a sort of different time period. It's weird to think that eventually they might be the ones who are out numbered by people from different time periods.

But she also knows that they probably think in the same way, honestly.

So that little flash of surprise turns almost instantly into a smile, and she offers her hand to the woman.]

Just Alex is fine. It's nice to meet you in person, Anne.

[At the smile, Anne found herself taking an instant liking to her. There's an honest charm to her face that she appreciates, and the woman was clearly on her feet here.

She returned the handshake with an easy one of her own.] Alex, and thank you.

[The informality of this place in regards to strangers was difficult to grow accustomned to. She did not mind of course, but she did have to constantly remind herself for it.]

What sort of shop are we going to?

Of course! Definitely not a problem. We're all new comers to some place once, right?

[It's easily said, because to Alex it definitely isn't a problem in the slightest. She's done it before and she'd do it again, and besides it's a nice day now that Laurie has given her something in order to settle down what the other ice cream had caused within her stomach.]
