Okay, I realize this is kind of silly. [Yeah, she does know, but she's going with it anyway, so...] But I'm trying to make a point to X'rut who runs the ice cream parlor. What's your favorite ice cream flavor back home? What kind of toppings would you like with it?

What sort of thing do you think never should be made into ice cream? My current one is pure wasabi with pieces of pickled plums that definitely looks like mint chocolate chip. I really don't recommend it. If you've ever eaten the ball of wasabi on a dare when you were having sushi with friends and had a fair amount to drink...

[That is a fairly specific story, Alex. Surely that was never you in college.]

Well, anyway, it's like that only turned up to a thousand. I can't imagine anyone enjoying it and salty plums. So let's give them a good idea of what kind of ice cream we would eat.

It's a sweet confection [A beat] well normally anyway. That's cold and made from milk, it comes in loads of different flavors and things like that. It's a good thing on a warm day, or a bad day or just when you need a little pick me up.

Cream, sugar, vanilla, eggs. And then flavorings, like chocolate, vanilla, strawberries, cookies, mangoes, raspberries, basically almost anything you can imagine.

Honey lavender might be a nice flavor. I've never tried it, but I do like lavender in tea.

Oh yeah, but you get used to it. I was born in Vancouver, so I came from it already.

I do miss the rain here, though.

But it's okay, because vanilla can still be a favorite.

I know it can seem kinda overwhelming, but if you want, we can go over and get a sampler of like the regular flavors and find ones that you like.

But not the wasabe one. No one should eat that ever.

Okay, take out the pickled plums and that sounds amazing. I've GOT to try some.

But anyway, coffee ice cream with chocolate fudge swirl. Add whipped cream on top and sprinkle it with nuts and maybe some strawberry sauce. Oh, and broken up cookie pieces. And probably put some cookie dough INTO the ice cream too.

Maybe some espresso shots too. Can you freeze those? Worth it.

Well, I mean there's still quite a lot of it left here, so you should be okay.

Definitely all of those things are good and things that I'd definitely pick.

Espresso shots freeze though, I've added sugar and made the popsicles for long summer days at work.

[She needed to fight the interns for them too, but she won and they were good.]

Okay, I don't say this to many people at all, Alex. You've got to understand that my praise is a rare and valuable commodity.

You... [Hold for effect. Wait, no, he doesn't have the PATIENCE to wait for effect to most people's level of perception. Damn. Well, for him it's a pregnant pause of a whole second.] are a FUCKING genius. And I'm saying that as someone who knows a certifiable, chain the world with his giant brain genius who can probably speak like twenty languages and make complex super-computers with like McGuiver materials or whatever.

But you? Nobel Prize for Peace over the creation of an Espresso shot popsicle. No Kree, Skrull, or Stark has EVER created something on your level. Thank you for your efforts for humanity. Teach me your ways.

[That just makes Alex laugh. Really laugh. Because she is the worst cook in existence and coffee and nanaimo bars and like... ezmac are the only things she can make.]

You just brew the espresso shots, add the sugar and pour them into dixie cups. They take about six hours or so to freeze up. You can add milk to make cappuccinos or lattes and chocolate to make mochas. It all works the same.

[And to make the woman more comfortable, Alex herself switches to video and gives Anne a smile.]

It's a sweet frozen confection made of milk, cream, sugar and some sort of flavoring. All sorts of flavorings actually.

[it's a shock when the video shows. She's still getting used to this sort of communication so she's not sure which is preferred.

She does attempt a small smile back.] That does sound indulgent. My name is Anne, and yes, I have only just arrived last week.
