Video: UN - Maresh
Good Afternoon all. My name is Rhy Maresh. And I'm starting to wonder just what is going on in this place. If I might be quite honest, I do not remember being here before this. Yes, I've been told what happened, yet I do not know that it makes sense. I have been kidnapped before, but nothing as elaborate as this.
[Deja Vu? Hasn't Rhy already done an announcement and arrival video? And yet... There he is, looking far more confident and a touch less... confidently sauve. A very different sort of royal.]
When I call to the water beyond the glass here it feels so... expansive. Oppressive. Like touching the ocean, but no man can move the ocean, no matter their spell. So I find myself intrigued. Clearly this is more than merely magical working to make this place. So science, then. That thing that Gray Worlders discuss. I cannot see why they would be so eager to copy the magic of my world when such wonders can be created as this place.
Ah, but I find myself distracted, do I not?
My question is this. I have seen some people in the streets so far, and they greet me with familiarity. Which would imply they are aware of my appearance. I have even been called out to by name. This is most definitely not Arnes, so that does not seem logical.
So I fear I must ask: Have I lost memories?
[Oh dear, this Rhy from another universe is just... well, perhaps he is a touch smarter than his younger self?]

It doesn’t take him long to decide this is not the Rhy that he’s gotten to know before now. The subtle differences, the minute shift in how he carried himself in his confidence followed closely with how he spoke of magic in comparison to Rhy. There was more... Experience in his tone.
He doesn’t know much, but he knows that this has happened with a few other people. Still, he’s not sure how to approach this version of the man. With a slightly quizzical quirk of his brows, he offers a small wave over the feed from where he’s been holed up in the library.]
Nope. Not a loss of memories, so you can uh... put that concern to rest.
[Llewellyn knew he could leave this to someone else, but Rhy had been good to him upon his arrival, and he felt he at least owed the man to try to help.]
I don’t know much on the matter, I’m quite new to the city myself. But uh— From what I understand, people who were already here have been replaced by people who are from different realities than their own. Many of us, myself included, have already met a version of you that was here before you... switched places.

[Closing the book he’d been reading, he marks the place with his finger and gestures back and forth with the book as he continued.]
Proximity wise? We live in the same dormitory dome, so the answer there would be yes. Personally... I can’t say definitively? As stated before, I’ve only just arrived recently myself. I also don’t believe that I can speak for the other Rhy, I’m not sure what the personal requirements for us being close would be for him.
[Tucking the book under his chin, he offers a small shrug.]
Speaking for myself? I find the other Rhy to be an interesting person and an engaging conversationalist that I’ve looked forward to getting to know better. He’s quite intelligent, and... inquisitive.
[The matter of clothes has him quirking a brow, it was amusing to think that even now a decade was still quite outdated to him.]
Out of style or not — Which you both are, if I’m being honest — they suited him. Although...
[Face pulling into something more thoughtful, before nodding as though he had come to a conclusion.]
Perhaps they wouldn’t suit you in quite the same way.

[This man is clearly intriguing. In fact, it's flashing in his eyes. The same sort of look that the younger Rhy has.]
Inquisitive is something my father frequently accuses me of. My brother is even annoyed by it. But I feel that an inquisitive nature is befitting a king. IF one does not open their own mind and experiences, then they can bring nothing new to their people.
no subject
Better to be inquisitive and learn than to remain ignorant of the world and it’s opportunities! I don’t know that I could properly do my own job any other way. I can only see how that would benefit someone uh... overseeing the growth and well-being of your land. Without new good ideas, there is no change. Without a willingness to change, there can be no improvement.
Well... One could argue that not all progress is meant for the good of the people, but that is where asking questions and learning the ins and outs of something is useful as well.

[That way he can secure his realm, but also inspire a new age of magical development. It's been going well for them so far.]
no subject
That sounds like an incredible idea, even if I myself am not particularly technologically inclined. I uh— I must say the idea of combining magic with mechanical works is an intriguing notion. I’m sure in some ways it would be an improvement on the original, while in others things are rather simplistic in nature to begin with. What have you worked out thus far?
[He pulls back with a little raise of his brows, recalling his original reason for getting in contract before his train of thought had jumped the rails.]
Oh... Ah is there anything else you have a question about or something you need clarification on?
no subject
[But he has no intention of sharing the advances his people have come up with.]
no subject
‘National security’ was a phrase they were all used to hearing around the station whenever that government agent was around. Keeping advancements under wraps wasn’t a strange decision for world leaders. So he wasn’t fond of it, but he understood.
Of course, the matter of food was one of the best subjects changes. If Llewellyn wasn’t already aware that this was a different Rhy, he would almost wonder if it was an intentional diversion.]
Ah! Now that I can help you with. Depending on what you have the inclination to seek out, the food here is... Well, it’s quite good.

[He would take a pass on too much fish.]

[He wracked his brain, trying to think if he’d come across anything that he hadn’t enjoyed.]
I can’t say that I’ve across anything was wasn’t enjoyable?

[Look at him, flirting in a more subtle way for the repressed man. Older Rhy is smoother.]

Things like this happen here from time to time. It's awkward at best and you've most likely lost memories but this could be another version of you all together. I have met many versions of people during my time here.
I do know you, just so you know. You're a bit of a flirt.
no subject
[He does give a sigh at the suggestion that the younger him is a flirt. Which was no doubt accurate.]
Allow me to extend my apologies for his behaviors. As beautiful as you are, it would be untoward to act in such a manner toward you without invitation. Perhaps I can make his behavior up to you? Such as...
[He considers and looks around, and goes to a closet in his dorm. He takes a metal hanger out and holds it between his hands and the metal starts to reshape and twist under his careful gaze until what was once a hanger instead is a complex metal pendant in one hand of twisted wire, far thinner than the hanger had been, and then a twisting, coiling sort of armlet.]
Perhaps a gift such as this? I'm sorry, I have no gems or beads at hand to set upon them.
no subject
That looks lovely but you have nothing to apologize floor. Every young woman enjoys a little flirting, it's usually harmless. [She doesn't want him to worry about it.]
Do you mind if I ask how you did that? I knew you could use magic but I've never seen it for myself.
My powers are very different.

Do you mind if we meet?

I don't know if you are aware of all the areas here but can we meet at the park? [She thinks that'll be the easiest place to find.]
no subject
I will seek it out of course. Post-haste. I wish to speak with you, as you clearly know much of what is going on here.
no subject
[She knows a fair amount but she probably doesn't have all of the answers to Rhy's questions.]
I am heading there now. I'll see you soon.
[Wanda hangs up, gathers her things and heads to the park.]
