So... this Magnolia Warbler just kind of showed up in my dome. Which is weird, right? I’ve never seen any birds here before.

It's not always loud.. or at least the ones at home aren't. It was just in my dome when I woke up.

Yes. It's my favorite kind of bird.

It’s pretty. What is it’s environment like on your world? Is it yellow? Is the bird camouflage?

[ People don't usually seem interested when Stan talks about birds so this is new to him. ]

It's not yellow. The bird's a male so his colors are really bright. It attracts females. They're really pretty against the green of trees and everything.

Oh. I didn’t realize that birds did that. Doesn’t that make them easy prey for hunters though?

I usually just like to watch birds, Richie. And there's never been birds here before.

Mm... Its very weird, certainly... But perhaps a good weird? It’s a very cheerful looking little fellow that you’ve found— or has found you as the case seems to be.

He does seem happy. I guess it might be a good weird thing. I just don't typically like when I can't explain things.

Mm... Well. Wanting to explain things is a good instinct, I think. I know I don’t particularly like not being able to find answers myself... but! I imagine until we can work out how your new friend arrived that he will be glad for you knowing what he is and how to care for him.

I suppose so. It'll probably be a little lonely for him when he realizes that he's the only one, though.
