[Our scene is laid in a pod kitchen. The first-person view displays a countertop, with a toaster upon it. The toaster is older, a bit battered, but it's been lovingly polished to some semblance of its former glory. It's plugged in, but when Alec pushes the lever -- which he's done a few times since the video started -- he's not pushing it down quite hard enough to engage the power. Also, there's no bread inside. It seems, at the moment, he's just trying to figure out how it works.

Functional usage can come later.

After the fourth or fifth try, Alec sighs.]

Oh, Sakor's t--

This is a foolish question, no doubt. But would someone care to explain this to me? I've taken the damned thing apart and put it back together twice, and I can't...

It's for bread, yes? Or pastries?

[Alec grumbles and kneels down beside the counter. The feed cuts after a brief flash of his distorted reflection in the toaster, pouting, brow furrowed with frustration.]

[Alec grins, and smears a bit of jam from his finger onto Seregil's cheek.]

Childish?

[His brows raise as he wipes off the jam with his hand. Is this the way Alec and his older self act in private? He can't say that he dislikes it. It's refreshing and feels right in its own way.

Then he wipes his hand on Alec's face, right down his nose.]

You're going to make me burn the sausages.

[whiteroadrunning]

Aura forbid, not the sausage!

[Alec is laughing -- wholeheartedly warm and wonderful -- when he leans over to smoosh his nose against Seregil's cheek, which he then proceeds to lick clean with one long, messy swipe of his tongue. He does at least have the decency to immediately dry Seregil's face with a dish towel, but he's still laughing while he takes their plates out to the table.]

Bring it out when it's ready, tali.

[Seregil waits until Alec's left the room to let out a long and slow breath. He wonders if Alec has any idea how tempting he's being. How easily Seregil could just let the damn sausage burn as he took the other man on the kitchen table, or counter.]

Or maybe I'll just eat all the sausage myself.

[It's called out in a teasing manner, but he's thinking about it now. Alec is far too lewd for sausages.]

[whiteroadrunning]

You do that, and I'll eat all your damn toast. I swear it.

And your eggs are getting cold.

[of_bokthersa]

All my toast?

[He knows he shouldn't, but he can't help himself.]

[whiteroadrunning]

Every last one.

[of_bokthersa]

That's more toast than you could eat, I'm certain of it.

[whiteroadrunning]

Try me.

[of_bokthersa]

[Seregil will come to the door and just bite a piece of sausage. Challengingly.]

[whiteroadrunning]

[Alec is already two bites into a slice of toast and staring unflinchingly at Seregil.]

[of_bokthersa]

[Seregil produces another piece with sleight of hand as he bites into the sausage again.]

And you left the jam in the kitchen.

[Seregil offers a dangerous lopsided grin as he casually eats the last piece of that piece of sausage in.]

[whiteroadrunning]

Oh? Would you like me to lick more off of you?

[of_bokthersa]

[Well, that would be very interesting. He lets his mind wander for a moment before shaking his head.]

Of course not, I'm just pointing out how jamless your toast is.

[whiteroadrunning]

And yours. So what do you intend to do about it?

[of_bokthersa]

Well,

[He smirks, biting another piece of sausage.]

I have all the sausage.

[whiteroadrunning]

[Alec laughs, and rests his chin on his hand.]

And you won't share a bit? That's cruel, talí.

[of_bokthersa]

[Alec's reaction just adds to Seregil's amusement. He can't help laughing as well.]

What will you give me for it?

[whiteroadrunning]

What would you like?

[Alec's grin is, perhaps, not entirely wholesome. And a wink?]

[of_bokthersa]

[That just causes him to cackle with laughter as he throws a sausage at him.]

You're supposed to be helping me take things slow, talí.

[whiteroadrunning]

[Alec manages to dodge the sausage, but that just causes it to fall -- woefully -- to the floor. That didn't benefit anyone now, did it? Alec stares at it mournfully for a few long moments.]

How am I meant to take things slowly when you're throwing your sausage at me!

[of_bokthersa]

I believe you've been insisting on eating my sausage for a few moments.

[whiteroadrunning]

That was before you were tossing it. You must be precise with your sausage, talí.

[of_bokthersa]

Ah, so you no longer what my sausage. I'll keep it all to myself then.

[He takes another bite.]

[whiteroadrunning]

Now wait a moment. Here's a thought. [Alec holds up his pointer finger.] What if you share your sausage, without launching it at me?
