Hello. For those who do not know me, my name is Wanda Maximoff.

[Her voice is direct and informative.]

I am reaching out today to inform those living within the domes that Loki and Charis have both left. In the way of their absence, I have taken over the care for Bjart. For those who do not know her, she is a dragon and has a recent history of escaping her home. She is being trained and I am looking after her now but I thought it best to inform those living here.

If you stumble across her, please do not interrupt the magic that keeps her constricted to the abandoned dome. I would like people to visit and help her train. She needs to get used to others, besides myself, and I think introducing people to her one on one would help. This is only when I am there to keep her and you safe.

[They were both gone? That was... Well in a way he knows he should be happy for them to get to return to their lives but... Well he had taken a liking to Charis and their conversations were always interesting.

And poor Bjart. Both her caregivers gone.

He had wondered why he hadn’t heard from them about helping to socialize the dragon though, and now he knows why. Well... He was going to offer Wanda the same thing.]

It’s good of you to take over caring for her in their absence. I uh— I had originally offered to meet her and help with socializing. I would still like to help if I can.

Do you have something specific in mind?

Mm... I was leaving the specifics up to Charis, as I didn’t even know dragons could exist before. So my knowledge is limited... and I expect largely fictitious.

[Still, he doesn’t want to leave Wanda with having to figure that out on top of everything else. She’d probably have her hands full with this.]

Perhaps I could visit her, see if she does’t mind my presence first and then build from there?

I will be there too. I want to make sure the wards don't weaken again and if something goes wrong, I can separate you two without harming either of you.

[She hasn't told Llewellyn a lot about her abilities but they were very frightening.]

[It’s true, he knows very little about her abilities but she had been kind enough in the few conversations that they’d had. He’d trust her to know what best to do.]

I wouldn’t want anything to happen that would stress or put Bjart in another bad situation. I expect she had enough from her last adventure.

I'd like to get her used to people but it will take time after her last adventure.

Time and caution are definitely the smarter way to go about it after that, I think... Charis was worried how people might act, people have a bad habit of judging others they don’t fully understand harshly.

[He’s going to blunder on though, because talking about her in the past tense just feels odd and uncomfortable.]

I almost wonder if I should bring a treat of some sort for her? It mm... helped my pup when he was getting used to people... Though a dragon is quite unlike a dog, perhaps?

[He’s trying his best, Wanda.]

Yes, they do.

[Wanda knows this from personal experience.]

But I am going to keep her safe from everyone. I want her to get used to people but I have no intention of letting anyone hurt her.

You can bring her some meat. That's what she usually eats.

I’m very glad for that... She was very important to Charis.

[He perks up though, as Wanda agreed that food would be a good option to start with.]

I’ll stop at the market before I visit then! Find something good for Bjart.

[Something good. A large cut, he expected, would be smart... Llewellyn had heard the dragon had a very large appetite after all.]

She was. I hope that I will be able to continue her care the way that Charis would have wanted.

[Wanda isn't close to Charis in a traditional sense but she felt as if the other woman was a kindred spirit.]

You seem to be well on your way to doing that.

[He responded with a warm tone.]

I’ll uh— I’ll try to be by in the next day or two if you don’t mind? I think as long as I remember to bring her a treat that should be everything, unless you think of something in particular. Oh! Or if there’s a specific time you had in mind?

The next day or two is fine and it can be any time.

Let me know when you are ready and I will meet you there.

[And he gets in touch, a few days later as promised. He even stopped at the market and asked for a few nice large cuts of meat that the dragon might like.]

[She smiles when she hears from the charming detective.]

Do you know where Bjart lives or shall we meet at the library? I'm with her now.

I believe I do have a good idea of where Bjart lives based on your explanation before, so it shouldn’t be too difficult to get there from where I am if you’d like to stay there with her?

[He might take an extra couple minutes, if only because he gets a little turned around once in a while. Still, Llewellyn is pretty confident he knows which way to go. He’d rather save Wanda the trip if he can.]

[She smiles a bit and then waits with Bjart for him to arrive. It isn't hard to sense him coming however, its Bjart who's head turns towards the hallway first.]

[He poked his head around the corner first, checking to make sure he’d gone the right way before he committed to entering the space. The detective’s face shifts into a polite smile as he spotted Wanda and Bjart both,]

Ah— hello Wanda, and you too Bjart.

[He keeps his tone low, not wanting to be too loud around the dragon. Not that he was particularly loud, but the anxiety was still there. He had the ‘treats’ wrapped and tied together under his arm.]

Thank you for agreeing to meet today.

[Bjart is curled in a circle before her star-lined head rises to stare at the oncoming man. Her nostrils flare but otherwise she doesn't move. Wanda's standing nearby with a hand resting gently on Bjart's side.]

Hello. Could you stay there?

I would like her to come to you if that's alright.

Oh of course, that would be fine with me. I’ll just uh—

[He fumbled a little, putting the package down before he resumed standing where he’d been. His attention returned to Bjart curiously, he hadn’t actually gotten to properly see her before now. Honestly, he’d never even seen a dragon before aside from the odd illustration in a book.]

[Bjart is an interesting creature. She is a dragon but her body is opaque with gleaming stars defining her sleek scaled figure. If she had been in the sky, she might be mistaken for a constellation.]

It's alright.

[Wanda places a hand on the dragon's side before she moves forward to sniff at the offered meat. It's a slow process but she eventually starts munching down and then begins to sniff at Llewllyn for more. Her tongue lolls out and coats his arms in a healthy amount of saliva before deciding that all of the meat is gone.

Wanda smiles at Bjart and encouragingly pats her side.] Good girl.

You can reach out to touch her. Just move slowly, let her know what you're doing and that you aren't a threat.

[Llewellyn watches, eyes rather wide as the dragon starts to chow down on the meat. He’s pretty quiet, too busy being awed by both the size and the beautiful stars shimmering along her form. This was definitely like nothing he’d ever seen before.

He should be a little grossed out and unsettled perhaps by the amount of saliva now coating his arm, but he laughs gently instead. Definitely different from when Pretzel goes after his hand after treats.]

I’m sorry I didn’t bring more, Bjart. I’m uh— glad you liked it though.

[Glancing at Wanda he nodded with a little smile,]

Really? Okay, um... easy does it then.

[He responded, before slowly raising his arm and holding his hand out for a moment, just in case the dragon wanted another sniff before he gently rested his hand on the dragons scales.

Wow, a real dragon. Way different from the stories he’d read, that’s for sure.]

[The large dragon snorts warm air across the detective's torso before carefully sniffing the outstretched hand. There was only a brief moment of tension and then Bjart leaned against the light touch with a rumble that could either be a purr or a growl.

Wanda, for her part, smiled.]

She likes you.

[gadaboutdetective]

[Llewellyn looked at the dragon curiously, brows raising a little at the rumbling sound that escaped it as it leaned into his hand.

... Was that good? It wasn’t barring teeth or anything, maybe it didn’t mind him?

His shoulders relaxed, and a rather delighted smile crossing his face as Wanda confirmed that Bjart actually liked him. A dragon liked him!]

Really? I’m... glad.

You’re very sweet, Bjart. I uh— I’m glad to finally get to meet you properly.

[He mumbled, gently running a hand over the dragons scales.]

But, as long as she likes my presence... I’d certainly like to offer to help with anything you think I might be capable with?

[Wanda inclines her head in a slow nod.] Keeping her company is always a help but I don't want to put you in harms way. She's still learning her own strength.

[She smiles at the large creature.]

But she's good at meeting people one on one like this. It's crowds that I am worried about.

I can understand the concern. Crowds can be... stressful. Too much noise makes it hard to figure out where to focus. Makes one more prone panic a bit...

But once she’s a little more used to me and learned, I would be happy to help keep her company when you get busy?
