[Richard's voice is surprisingly calm, but there's a dark tinge to it. An edge of withheld fury that could snap at any moment. To those who know him, something is clearly very wrong and very bad.]

Alex Reagan has gone missing. The scene of her abduction is much the same as what John reported in regards to Laurie's, except she didn't seem to suspect her attacker.

[There is an unstated comment that when he finds whoever did this he will squeeze every drop of information out of them by any means necessary and then kill them if any harm came to Alex.]

[He waves her over to the computer.]

How's your memory?

[gristle]

It’s pretty good. Why?

[and she comes over but avoids looking at the blood everywhere.]

I want you to be a second set of eyes for me.

[He easily enters the password and begins sifting through the files.

It also gets her away from staring at the blood.]

[gristle]

[Bev just nods and leans forward, looking at the screen as he goes through the files.]

So we're looking for who she was investigating and why people were so mad at her?

[nobasisinfact]

Yes.

[gristle]

Okay. Do you think she's got pictures of the people she posted about earlier?

[nobasisinfact]

It's possible. Alex is a very thorough reporter.

[gristle]

Okay.

Also, don't you think the dome outside is weirdly quiet? Everyone's like. Almost cowering in their houses or something. It reminds me of Derry.

[nobasisinfact]

Derry?

[He tilts his head slightly.]

[gristle]

Where I’m from. There’s... it doesn’t matter what there is. But people just don’t see the bad things happening around them.

[nobasisinfact]

You think this is similar?

[gristle]

I don’t know. It kinda seems like it.

[nobasisinfact]

Did they know what was going on?

[gristle]

It was like they didn't want to know. They'd drive past kids being literally carved on and act like they didn't see it.

[nobasisinfact]

Carved on?

[gristle]

Yeah. A bully was carving his name into my friend's stomach and adults drove right by. And when people are getting beaten up and when kids go missing too.

[nobasisinfact]

[That's horrifying.]

Did you ever find out why?

[gristle]

IT. The thing from Stan's memory. That's what was doing it. It had been since the town was created.

We both thought that the older people of the town kinda felt like that.

[nobasisinfact]

It's doubtful the thing from his memory is causing this.

[Doubtful, but not completely ruled out.]

[gristle]

Yeah, but it's the same sort of thing. Something that makes people not care.

[nobasisinfact]

We'll look into it once we know everyone is safe.

[gristle]

But what if it’s connected, Richard? What if it’s why someone didn’t see what was happening? Maybe their devices did but they didn’t.

[nobasisinfact]

What do you mean?

[gristle]

Like... it changes their perception. IT could make us see things that weren't real, and it made the adult see things that weren't normal as normal. Maybe it's why everyone got so creepy and angry all at once even though nothing bad was happening.

[nobasisinfact]

I think that may have just been human nature, but I'm not sure we can test that with the resources we have.
