[A young woman appears. Her long, dark hair is tangled and soaking wet, hanging down in front of her haggard face. Her age is hard to pin down, but it’s clear that she’s seen better days. And worse days, for that matter.]

There is rain that falls from a pipe here!

[This was a fact she’d learned with a shriek when she’d decided to play ‘what does this knob do’ in her room.

Her face lights up when she speaks, though, her accent clearly French.]

First it scalded, then when I tried to turn it off it became incredibly cold! [She giggles though, a rather ugly sound, and moves over to flop down on her bed melodramatically. On her right hand, visible as she gets comfortable, a bright red circular scar can be seen.] And such a bed! Have you ever seen such a bed before?

[She exhales, relaxing into the mattress.]

If this is heaven, I believe I am in the wrong place.

My name is Ben Solo.

[He is not unpleasant to look at, not by any means. She smiles at him, broadly and almost manic.]

Why would you not wish to show your face, m'sieur Ben Solo? [She asks him.] It is handsome- and I like your scar. It must tell a good story.

You may call me Eponine Thenardier, when you tell me the story. Perhaps we can trade stories. I have many scars, too. [she indicates one she had running along the side of her neck, nearly from ear to collarbone, and that in and of itself reveals the freshly healed scar on her hand.]

[Jon is probably around Eponine's same age, but he can't quite tell. It's not important, anyway.]

Rain from a pipe is but one of many fantastical things that exist here.

[Eponine gasps out-loud and flips on to her stomach, dark eyes wide as she looks at the face of the man in front of her.

Oh, he's a pretty one. A very pretty one, with those curls-! She reaches out to touch one but remembers that he's not actually here. Just his image. Like some sort of ghost.]

It is! And I see you here, like a ghost, but you are somewhere else! A letter delivered right away but seen face to face. I do like it, it is good to see a warm face.

But I cannot swim. [This all goes right over her head.]

They're generally not deep enough for you to have to swim.

[The gentleman on the screen chuckles at the whole thing. Yes, he believes he can understand the pleasure someone might get from the 'shower'. He too had been very shocked and amazed when he had arrived.]

I'm told it is a called a 'shower'. Back home I much preferred the public baths, but there is something captivating about putting oneself under a warm rain.

The trick, I have learned, is to start with the cold so as to not scald oneself, then turn the other knob, the hot, up slowly. That way you can leave your hand under the spray and yourself out of it, to test for appropriate temperature.

Though the beds really are... less than impressive.

[Idly, she wonders if all the ghosts here are so handsome.]

A shower. Yes, I like that. Like the rain showers. [She smiles dreamily, thinking of the sound of rain on pavement.]

Are they? They are the best beds I have ever seen! I have never had one so grand! Or one all to myself as this! You must know some truly grand beds!

But yes, the rain showers to clean is lovely. You will enjoy indulging. Until you grow to miss soaking in a bath.

[Llewellyn isn’t sure that he’s ever seen someone so excited about what they’ve found upon arriving here. She’s obviously from a time before his, at least judging by her reaction to the shower. Though he has to admit that they are still quite an improvement on the ones from his time, as was the case with many things here.

If he can be helpful, he will be. So he opens the feed with a curious smile.]

Mm... The modern advancements here are certainly something to figure out, especially in the kitchen.

There are so many, I do not know where to begin. perhaps the lights. Or that we are under the ocean! Tell me of the kitchen, what is in it?

Oh— A lot of things, many of which I had never seen the like of before arriving.

[He pauses, before belatedly remembering some of his mishaps in the kitchen upon arriving.]

You may want to ask for assistance before you try some of the devices though, some of them are a bit finicky? They are mm... very convenient though. Especially if you wish to cook something more quickly.

That is a shower, from what I have been told. It is meant for washing yourself clean.

[She smiles gently and has an air of warmth that radiates even from the ghost like video that appears in front of her.]

The beds are very nice too. Though it's weird that they are in the ground like this. I've taken to putting plants and candles around mine. It's very lovely and the flowers are a wonderful smell to wake up too.

Eponine finds she wants to shield her eyes and look away.]

Have you? Perhaps I shall do the same. I do love flowers. It would be far better to wake to their smell than that of gutters.
