UN - Maresh
[Good Afternoon all, Rhy has arrived and is smiling into the camera, his smile warm and he hopes as charming as he can manage. The right sort of look from your publicly elected council member. He hopes.]
Good afternoon all, Rhy Maresh here, one of your council representatives. I'm reaching out today with a few requests for ways you can assist me in helping you as a member of your council.
First, I'm looking to bring to the board a way to improve part of our welcoming procedures. There may be others, like me, who came to this place and had trouble adjusting due to world differences or technology gaps. I believe that we might benefit from something akin to a deeper introduction to how adjusting to this world can be. The things they can do, the things they can try, how to approach technology and warning them of the darkness that sometimes overwhelms us. So my first question is this.
If you could ask two questions when you first arrived here that were not covered by Max, Laurie, and Annie's normal introductions for us, what would they be. Anything from 'where is there good food' to 'do we have to work' to 'but WHY is the Network a thing' works. I'll try and gather the most useful and spread out ones to help create a lovely little briefing packet. Or does that seem silly?
The second question is this.
I have heard of something recently in my reading. It was called a 'Talent Show'. Can anyone explain it to me? And is it popular enough that it might be to public interest for a little celebration?

[Even if she still can't get him to bang in her office.]

Maybe ever.
[That whole pesky not-actually-dead-missing-wife who was an agent who was tasked with watching him and marrying him and who left him and destroyed his life thing.]

[Oh yes, give him the juicy gossip. And allow him to point out that here it might well not matter.]
no subject
That is kind of a very long story.
[Is it though, Alex? Is it really? ]

I can see you do not wish to share. I very much respect that. I will not pressure you.
no subject
It’s just. It’s not really my story to tell anymore. It’s Richard’s and I promised to be more careful about the things I share about our lives back home considering the Sphere does it so often.

[That makes her laugh. ]
Glad I could help with that. I seem to do it a lot.

Thanks. I do have it. Or at least what I want anyway. Even if I know other people don’t always get it.
[Like Rhy himself. ]

Lots of people do. On both sides honestly. Me being with an asshole and him being with the nosy reporter who tore his life up.

[Rhy sighs.]
Sometimes it is those who cut us the deepest that most deeply hold our hearts

[For Alex, her voice is definitely soft, and it's filled with an emotion that it's not normally filled with: sadness. Because Alex doesn't want to think about the person who has cut Richard the deepest. She doesn't want to think about how long it took for Alex to stop measuring herself against the ghost of Richard's wife who had faked her death like she'd faked their marriage.
And Alex really doesn't want to think about how much she knows that Richard Strand still loves his wife.]
Do you really think that, Rhy?
no subject
Though he seems happy with you, Alex. I am certain you have not truly torn his life apart.

[Coralee. Always fucking Coralee.]
So I'm not the one who holds it the most.
[Hello old mass of insecurities, Alex has not missed you in the slightest.]
no subject
The man clearly adores you, though he is clearly not the most obvious about displays where outsiders can see it.

[Though he supposes he gets it. Watts will never likely hold his heart like Alucard will. There was still a part of Rhy that longed to be home to find if his lover really was about to approach him, about to beg his way back into Rhy's good graces.]
no subject
Maybe.
[And she might if it wasn’t for everything else that went along with the doubt and the reasons for it. But Alex does try and give him a faint smile. ]
Thanks Rhy. I’ll talk to you soon, alright?
no subject
I can tell.
