[ Tony knows damn well Steve has to run to sound like this, and it immediately puts him on high alert. Or, rather, in higher alert than what he had originally had been, considering the circumstances. ]

[ He says it in a way that sounds too desperate — too relieved to hear a voice that he has no right to be relieved to hear. A few days ago, when he'd first seen Tony with his own eyes, he'd treated like he would back home. But in this moment, when the metal hook of isolation feels like it's threatening to break his chest open, god it's good to hear that voice. ]

[ A sigh is heard from Tony’s side, his own relief out in the open. Tony’s not a stranger to feeling alone and isolated, but he’d be lying if he said he’s used to it. This is a walking nightmare, and he can’t seem to wake from it, so it’s good to hear Steve’s voice and know he’s still here. ]
