[ This is by far not the worst memory that the sphere has revealed of Theon’s but it’s still one he would have rather not been out there. The memory is shaded with guilt and regret and an overwhelming sadness.

He won’t respond to people right away but he won’t completely withdraw either if people try to talk to him about it. ]

[Happy memories from Westeros are few and far between, especially for someone of Jon's complicated social status. But that doesn't mean they're nonexistent, and this one is one of the times that Jon remembers being happiest. He wasn't entirely free of turmoil, but the Jon in this memory is happier than the one here, and not yet carrying the visible scars hinting at a rough life.

It's a glimpse into Westeros, too, and the people who don't really fit into it. And a young red-haired woman, probably the one from Jon's confession, if the interaction between them is anything to go by. It starts out lighthearted but then grows serious, with talk of an attack and a warning that people will die.

At the time, it had been a guess based on history. He knows now how true it was.

Not that it matters much now, what with Ygritte's opinion on the matter.]

[ The memory is pretty political in nature, Theon's best friend dealing with the news that his father is imprisoned and he is summoned to the capital. His decision is one that came quickly. Theon knew that the quick decision isn't particularly an easy one. He doesn't exactly envy Robb in that moment, figuring out what to do without Ned Stark leading them is a challenge, certainly.

Theon watches as Robb talks and once he sits down and they're alone is when he finally speaks. ]

You afraid? [ He asks. Theon already knew the answer, he knew Robb better than he knew anyone else. He could see Robb's hand shaking, but Robb hadn't shown his weakness even moments before. I must be. ]

Good. [ Why is that good? ]

It means you're not stupid.

This is a memory of another man and another lifetime. I do not wish to speak of it.

[ In truth, it hurt him worse than the darkest memories he has had put out for the whole sphere to see. ]

[ It’s a compulsion that Theon doesn’t feel that he can deny. There’s plenty of sins and things that eat away at him. His life is but a series of bad decisions that have hurt people he should have been better for. But there is perhaps one particular guilt that’s at the root of all guilt. There’s never been anyone that could assuage it and even is death doesn’t even the score. ]

I killed my best friend and my brother. I betrayed the man who raised me and murdered people who had done nothing but care for me. I turned my back on everyone that mattered because I was trying to prove I was someone I wasn’t. It was all stupid and nothing I do makes it right because there are two many bodies on my hands.

[ The feed cuts as soon as the words end because hell if Theon wants to even acknowledge that conversation happened or talk about Robb or Ned or any of them. ]

Throughout most of the memory that is shown on the network is a sense of shame and desperation. Theon feels guilt for abandoning Yara with Euron but he'd been determined to go back and save her.

So he'd fought and what is his greatest weakness and shame ended up being the hidden weapon to winning and gaining the support of the Ironborn for his mission. ]

So, anyone know how to get this thing out of your head? I really don't want to end up as monster bait and considering I haven't used as much as a cell phone in years, having something like this implanted directly into my brain is super sketchy and kind of dangerous. Technology and me don't really get along.

Actually, you know what? I got a scalpel. Nevermind. Anyone got a mirror? I'll figure it out.

[ Theon's been asking around for a maester but no one seems to know what he's talking about and so he sends out a message. Someone has to be able to help right? ]

Does this place have no maester? Or at least some milk of the poppy?

[ The voice sounds strained. Theon's still distressed but at least it's Theon that's back in control, though his mind feels more fractured than ever. ]

[ So the whole underwater thing isn't the weirdest thing about this place to Theon. He's not particularly unsettled by it. It's an interesting thing to think about in context of his Drowned God.

And after all, it's hard to fathom this is really real. ]

[ He's only asking because the last thing he remembers is being run through by the Night King and he had been pretty sure he was dying. ]
